I WALK THIS EMPTY STREET
Personality
DISLIKES: uncontrollable students, tardiness, working late, discrimination based on blood purity, dusty books (even though he deals with them on a daily basis when teaching History of Magic), cutting his hair
LIKES: Muggle alcohol, black coffee, women who can speak up for themselves, teaching, sleeping, arguing, the feeling after proving someone wrong, France
BAD HABITS: being a hypocrite about certain things (such as procrastination), using Muggle pens and pencils at times instead of quills/ink because he finds them easier to use, mixing English and French in one sentence if he's super angry or upset, drinks far too much coffee than can be considered normal
GOOD HABITS: not afraid to say what he's feeling, constantly tries to make his class more engaging for his students, early for everything
WEAKNESSES: his best friend, letting his temper get in the way of things when he can't keep his cool, occasionally smoking in his office if he can get a package of fags without trouble
STRENGTHS: good at speaking and persuasion, excellent writer, willing to give up anything for the few people he truly cares about
PERSONALITY: Peter is a generally outspoken, outgoing guy. When he was younger he tried his best to stay away from most people, but that changed as he grew up and saw the world in a different light. He became quite sociable, graceful, and easy to talk to, which was simple to see for the people around him.
Though he talks to nearly everyone around him on a daily basis, his conversational manner can't be taken too seriously, because the chances are that he's easily amused by how boring you are or just doesn't give a fuck either way, but will still listen to you to give you the pretence that he actually cares about what you're saying. Therefore some people have labeled him as two-faced, but he much rather prefers to be described as someone who can effortlessly switch in and out of actually caring and pretending to care.
He also has the convenient ability to manipulate people, and if involved in conversations with certain people, he'll be sure to insert heavy amounts of sarcasm into it just to make it less boring for himself. With his students he's not afraid to give out punishments if they're not paying attention, are late, hand in assignments late, etc.
He's a bit of flirt when either he's drunk, thinks a girl is actually worth it, is too innocent for her own good, or is hard to get. Girls that play hard to get are a challenge and challenges are his favorite, because he's a fan of working hard for things, even though most of the time he can secure a date without any difficulties if he needs one.
Because of his relationship with his father and his hatred towards the guy who broke his best friend's heart, he forms grudges faster than most people and will do whatever it takes to get back at people who've potentially hurt the few people he really cares about.

MIRROR OF ERISED: Whenever he has kids of his own, to make sure they grow up with a real mother, unlike the way his childhood went.

She's been his best friend for as long as he can remember and his feelings for her only increased after they slept together. He's aware that she doesn't harbor any romantic feelings towards him and thus he's never let her find out about this. He's constantly trying to get over her and still be her friend all at once, because he knows she's the one girl he'll never get.

AND I’M THE ONLY ONE

MOTHER: Emily Hawthorne, Muggleborn, deceased at age 20.
CHILDREN: N/A
OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY: Half-sister - Kelhy Hawthorne, 14 years old. Step-mother - Vanessa Hawthorne, 40 years old, currently unemployed.
HISTORY: Peter was born in the midst of the second Wizarding War, at the height of Voldemort's reign. His mother and father, though not directly a part of the Order, remained loyal to the cause and quit their jobs at the Ministry after it was overtaken by Voldemort's supporters. However, they could not make a home for themselves after this because of Emily's Muggleborn blood status that remained to be investigated, along with the fact that she was obviously several months into her pregnancy with Peter. Because of this, they resorted to going on the run until they could find a safe haven. Before they could, Peter was born a few weeks prematurely in March of 1997 and unfortunately his mother died after giving birth to him due to their poor living conditions.
His father was traumatized by this event, and eventually took Peter with him when he found a way to make it to France before the war actually ended. He decided to stay there and give himself and his newborn son what he believed to be a better life with a fresh start for them both. Since Peter grew up mainly in France but his father originally possessed English heritage, he still holds strong multicultural roots for both countries.
English was also the language he learned first at home with his father, subsequently learning French when he attended Muggle primary school throughout his early years living in France. It was at one of these schools that he first met Émi Lamoureux, who he later discovered to live in the same neighborhood that he did. They quickly became best friends, and she filled the gap of a female figure in his life that at five years old he wasn't even aware existed. She was far more mature and shy than he was, and though their personalities conflicted at times, she became the one person he could always trust with anything.
However, even at this young age, Peter constantly felt the absence of his mother. His father had spent ten years lying to him, saying that she'd abandoned them both when Peter was just a baby, failing to mention that his mother had died, not left. Peter attributes these lies to his father's selfish nature, but even then he still can't begin to understand why his own father would tell such a lie to him, aside from the possibility that his father blames him for his mother's untimely death. He especially couldn't comprehend this news when he was ten years old and was first informed of it because it was 'about time he knew the truth,' according to his father.
To make things worse, Carter Hawthorne proceeded to move himself and his son back to England, because he wanted his son to have the same Hogwarts experience that he'd had in his youth, which would be impossible if they still lived in France, since it would end up in him attending an alternate Wizarding school. Peter was more than reluctant to move to a country he'd never lived in, in addition to it being his mother's home country as well, but he had no choice but to oblige with his father's decision. The move presented a huge culture shock in itself, not to mention the bitterness Peter felt towards his father for separating him from Émi, who at this point he felt was the only person who cared about him.
When he got his Hogwarts letter several months later, along with a letter from Émi informing him that she'd been accepted to Beauxbatons, they both promised to keep in touch via owl no matter what. They remained good friends over the years because of this bond, and he also visited her most summers as they got older, making their long-distance friendship a bit more bearable.
He was sorted into Slytherin immediately upon arrival to his new school, and made friends quite easily, his usual charm and way with words taking over the apprehensions he'd held about attending a new school in a new country. In the middle of first year, though, he got a letter telling him that his father had remarried and was soon expecting a baby with his new wife. He already held an intense grudge against his father for everything that he'd done through his first few years at Hogwarts, which was only intensified by this, though he quickly welcomed his new step-mother into their family with more than enough respect, just to show his father that he could to prove a point.
He presently continues to hold a grudge against him, but the impact of it has lessened as more time passed. He grew to genuinely respect his step-mother, though she has never been able to make up for the absence of his biological mother whom he never knew. He has adored his baby half-sister from the very moment she was born, because she was someone that he could care about and has always cared about him in return without any judgment or bias because of only being half-siblings.
He lost his virginity when he was sixteen to a girl he'd met in a club during one of the summers he'd spent in France with Émi. They continued seeing each other until the end of the summer, but both knew that it couldn't continue once he went back to England for his final year at Hogwarts, so they mutually ended their relationship. Before this, he'd only had a few casual relationships with girls in his year at Hogwarts, and none classified as too serious.
The second person he had sex with after graduating Hogwarts when he was eighteen was Émi, who'd been devastated after finding out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her for a while. Because they'd both been drunk when it happened and he'd later realized that he'd taken her virginity, he'd panicked and felt extremely guilty about it, though they did end up talking it out a few weeks after and when he was reassured that she was alright with it and still wanted to be friends, his world calmed down again.
Since he'd gone through school being exceptional in just about all the subjects he'd taken, he decided to apply for the job of being a professor at Hogwarts just as a joke (and because he felt like a complete screw-up being as ambitious as he was and having no idea what career to pursue). He was surprised when actually offered the job, and took it, wondering how long he'd possibly be able to last. It was astonishing when he found that teaching came naturally to him and he did very much enjoy the environment of his workplace, since his seven years at Hogwarts away from his father had been the best years of his life, so he kept the job and quit his search for other jobs. The only complaint he has that he rarely shares with anyone is how boring History of Magic can be at times, even if he is the one teaching it, but he does attempt to make it a bit more interesting for his current students because he remembers how pretentious he found it during his years at Hogwarts being forced to sit through it.
