PERSONALITY:[/b] With her childhood and trauma and whatnot, someone would expect Lena to be a little more rude or rebellious, and to outsiders, she is. She doesn't really like talking to people she doesn't know very well, so she tends to seem a bit off to them. However, she will not scream or shout at them. She will just ignore them or act as if she doesn't care. It takes a little bit of time to warm up to.
With her friends, Lena is a kind person who tries to make everyone feel comfortable around her. She tries to reassure people to think that they are not as bad as they think they are and that they are beautiful people deep down. She is a good listener and she will always try and give as good of an advice she can think of based on her own experiences. She is also sensitive to people with a tragic past, as much as she doesn't like to admit it. Lena is open about her feelings and is not afraid to talk about them when it's necessary.
No one can be all sugary sweet, Lena included. She is a bit random at times, often screaming food items when it is not related. Her mouth is like a cannon because she swears so much. She can sometimes make random facial expressions at the most random of times. She likes to giggle a lot, even when it's not necessary. She does know not to giggle in serious situations though.

Lena Marie Vorstenbach was born in a Muggle hospital in the city of Cologne, Germany. Her parents weren't exactly ecstatic with having her because they wanted another son, which she was not. They neglected her as a baby, often leaving her to her sister Ivanka to take care of her while they were on trips to all over Germany. (Lena used to think it was for work, but now she knew it was to get away from her.) Obviously, this led Lena to form a close bond with her sisters and a strained relationship with her parents. She also grew up with her eldest sister Heidi - who was a bad influence because she swore so much - and her elder brother Alfred. She was close to Heidi, but not much so because she and Heidi were ten years apart. She and Alfred, on the other hand, shared the usual love/hate relationship. The Vorstenbachs moved to Manchester when Lena was three since Adele got a new job there, and they chose to stay in a medium sized house outside of the city.
By the age of five, Lena had formed from a shy baby into a ball of rebellion. She swore whenever she wanted however she wanted, even if her parents were mad at her, and she couldn't care less. She rebelled against them because they had abandoned her as a baby and some coaxing from her sister Heidi. That often got her grounded, but she didn't seem fazed by that at all. Of course, it had to go too far someday. Her last course of rebellion was during a holiday to the Norwegian fjords with her family. Her family had told her not to go diving in the Norwegian fjords, but Lena and her siblings did anyway. Even though it was a mighty large drop, a long rush of adrenaline made the others brave enough to jump. Heidi and Alfred had already jumped and they were... alright. It was Ivanka's turn to jump, and since Ivanka had a lot of adrenaline in her, she had forgotten that she could not swim.
Lena watched Ivanka jump, and she shrieked for her to be careful. As soon as Ivanka landed in the water, Lena jumped into the fjord without a second thought, trying to save her sister. Lena remembered how to swim, so she survived the jump. She swam around, trying to find her sister, and she sees an arm from the corner of her eye. Lena swims towards it only to see that it was Ivanka's body. With her sister's body in one arm, she swims to shore and wearily tells everyone she is dead. The three of them told their parents, who were too devastated to ground the other three children for disobeying their rules. They buried Ivanka in an old Norwegian cemetery and never looked back. For the first couple of days, Lena barely spoke to anyone at all because she felt really guilty, and vowed to herself she will never do anything extremely stupid without thinking about it. She has kept that promise to this day. A change had arrived on the young girl, and she was now more interested in languages instead of making her parents upset. At the end of her Norwegian escape, Lena bought a book on the Norwegian language.
Three years later, at the age of eight, Lena's sister Heidi graduated from Hogwarts. It was then that Heidi decided to hold a party for her and her siblings. During that party, Lena showed her first sign of magic. She was blowing a kiss from her hand towards Heidi when the kiss formed a bouquet of roses and it fell onto the floor. The young girl was extremely excited, and as a reward, her sister gave her her first taste of firewhiskey, which Lena drank with pleasure. She liked it, but never made much of a deal over it. For the next couple of weeks, Lena's siblings treated her quite well, often giving Lena her way in games.
One day, Lena came home from a day in Manchester with her brother and wanted to talk to her sister. She couldn't find her - or any of her clothes, possessions, or any trace of her for that matter - in her room. She searched all over the house in every nook and cranny, and she wasn't there. Alarmed, she immediately informed her mother. Adele Vorstenbach immediately tried to call Heidi. However, Heidi didn't pick up. Alfred thought that she would probably return in the night, but she didn't. They waited. She didn't return for an entire fortnight, and by then Lena had lost all hope her sister was returning. Sometimes, Lena would have a nightmare that one night, Heidi would sneak into her bedroom at night and tell her to hide her under the bed.
At the age of ten, Lena watched her brother go to Hogwarts. She was alone at home, and she usually spent most of her time listening to tapes of different languages and tried to imitate the words. It calmed her from all the drama that happened in the previous years, and it finally gave her time to be by herself and know what she really wanted in life. She received her Hogwarts letter during one summer day when she was busy reading A Little Princess. She was particularly happy because that meant that she finally got to go out of the house and into the outside world.
During the Sorting, Lena was extremely nervous. She didn't know which house she would be sorted into, and she was extremely paranoid that the Hat couldn't decide on a house and decided to make her pack her bags and take the train home. She was extremely shocked when she was sorted into Slytherin. She was extremely relieved though; at least she wasn't sent home. She faced her first two years with pride, and she realized that she wasn't terrible at Charms and her Potions skills were definitely not the best.
For Lena's third year, she had to pick extra electives to take. She picked Ancient Runes because it was another language she would like to learn, and Muggle Studies, since she thought it was a particularly interesting subject. It was obvious she would get caught up in Ancient Runes, and she soon developed a penchant for it. She got Os on all of her Ancient Runes essays, something she would particularly be glad about. Lena also did reasonably well in Muggle Studies, though she got a little bored of it after a while.
During Lena's third year, somewhere near Easter, she was drunk for the first time on the staircase all by herself late at night. Misdirected and confused, she stumbled upon a Seventh Year who was drunk too. Unaware of what they were both doing, they locked themselves in a broom closet and started kissing, though it didn't go any further. After they realized what they were doing and where they were, they stopped. They couldn't get out until the Seventh Year could regain some of his awareness and say 'Alohomora.' Even though nothing too extreme happened, Lena is sometimes scared that something more did happen and she had no idea. She was a little depressed for a while, and she even stayed away from alcohol for an entire week before she dared to drink it again.
With her Third Year behind her, Lena is ready to start fresh. She cannot wait for what will happen in her next year in Hogwarts, her dreams of being a translator of old texts fresh in her head.
