PERSONALITY:[/b] If there was any word that could describe Val almost perfectly, it would definitely be elegant. She walks elegantly, acts elegantly, looks elegant with her hair in some intricate hairstyle most of the time, and she even has a very elegant, soft British accent.
Sometimes, Val can be quite moody. One minute, she is happy with a great big smile on her face because something very big is going to happen and she has big expectations for it. The next minute, though, she could be panicky and wondering what could possibly go wrong, though she doesn't actually say it out loud.
Despite her moody attitude, Val manages to keep her cool. Most of the time. She will never snap at someone when she's angry outright, though her tone might give it away. She is also extremely good at keeping her composure because of her siblings annoying her constantly as a young girl.
Val doesn't talk about her feelings or secrets with anyone that is not close to her. And even with her closer friends, she doesn't talk about her feelings either because she doesn't want to be seen as weak or be betrayed. This makes it hard for Val to form close bonds with anyone.
Despite being moody some of the time, Val is determined to bright up someone's day by putting a big smile on her face even though she might not feel very happy. This is one case of Val's utter determination. Or should it be, over determination. Sometimes, especially when she's out to prove something to someone, Val will do anything she can at any cost to prove herself. One case was a very bad dare in Fourth Year. (More in her History)
Being in Ravenclaw, it is no big deal for someone like Val to be as clever as she is. However, it is one thing to be clever, and another to be knowledgeable. Val reads random books her mother bough for her as a child, and since she has quite a good memory, she keeps most of the information in her head.

HISTORY:[/b] Valerie April D'Eath was born in St. Mungo's on the 15th of April, explaining her middle name which her mother instantly stuck on her. Her father named her Valerie after about three days after she was born, which caused a bit of a fight in her family, since some of her older siblings wanted to add a touch of themselves to her. She was legally named a week after her birth.
As a three-year-old, just after her little sister was born, bouncy Val went with her mother and her younger sister to Paris for a one-week trip. She saw the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and L'Arc de Triomphe, and ever since, she has developed a fascination for all this French. Along with her passion for France, Val also discovered a particular passion for fashion. She started getting a bit more interested in high class fashion labels such as Dior and Chanel, and that definitely caused a major change in the young girl, making her more elegant and more interested in sketching.
However, when she was four, Val found something particularly shocking when she entered her bedroom one day after drawing her third sketch of the day. However, when she entered, she found that her mother was sleeping in the middle of the day covered in a blanket. Considering her close bond to her mother, Val knew her mother well enough to know she never slept in the middle of the day. After a check of Mrs. D'Eath's heartbeat, Val knew at once her mother was dead. She shrieked and started crying, and straight after that, she started acting more haughty, spiteful and rude.
Less than three months after the old Mrs. D'Eath died, Lorcan D'Eath married a young woman, who Val reasonably liked. And less than a month after the marriage, the young woman was pregnant with the last D'Eath of the family. The birth of the youngest boy brought so much joy for Val it made her less spiteful and she tried to reconnect with her siblings.
Everything went reasonably well until Val started Hogwarts. To say the least, Val was particularly shocked to find herself sorted in Ravenclaw, as she did not think herself to be particularly clever or witty. However, she knew for a fact that the Sorting Hat was never wrong, so she slowly started to trust its decision.
In her second year at Hogwarts, Val tried out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, but failed to make the cut. Even though it didn't seem to have a major effect on her, it made her extremely quiet for a couple of weeks. And during the Christmas holidays, there were charred remains of a broomstick lying in the garbage can. Val said that she was nowhere near responsible for them.
In third year, Val was excited for her first visit to Hogsmeade, which her brothers had gloated about. Her first stop was Honeydukes, of course, since Val has a sweet tooh. She was wowed by the huge choice of food they hada on the shelves. However, her almost flawless elegance slipped for a moment when she tripped on a bucketful of Sugar Quills lying on the floor. Thankfully, they were left intact and nobody from Hogwarts saw her.
Fourth Year was Val's elder (and favourite) brother's last year in Hogwarts. The two of them were very close because they were two of the only three full siblings in the D'Eath clan; the third was their younger sister, who was sorted into Hufflepuff early that year. Trying to hold on to her older brother, Val started hanging around him more and leaving her old friends behind. Her demeanor became more cheery as well. This annoyed the older D'Eath's friends, who don't like the idea of a fourteen-year-old girl following them around like a lapdog, so they dared her to run around the school acting like a chicken. Val, being the determined person she is, accepted. Needless to say, Val failed the dare, since she had no idea what sound a chicken made and her to resort to dog barking instead. This caused humiliation with her classmates for a couple of days, though they quickly got over it.
Fifth Year came much too quickly for Val, who felt that she was not at all ready to take her O.W.L.s. She was also sad she did not get the Prefect position, but she didn't mind too much. To study for her O.W.L.s, the young Ravenclaw studied any time she could: before and after dinner, lunch, and often stayed up late in bed so she could read. She also lost sleep over whether she would do alright in her O.W.Ls. She was so fatigued by studying that one time, in Charms, she fainted and she had to be transported to the Hospital Wing. She was advised not to go to bed so late, so she did. With a better schedule, Val sat her O.W.Ls with a peace of mind. She received six Os and the rest Es, and the young Ravenclaw knows that with these results, she could be on her way to being a worker for the Ministry of Magic.
