We all know that, at Hogwarts, each house gains and loses points throughout the year. It's a little harder to do on a roleplay game, because not every sees the points being given or taken away. So this is board (not this thread) is designed to keep track of points won and lost. Some ways to get house points are listed below. If you have any other ideas, please post in the ideas board!
1) PROFESSORS, PREFECTS, HEADS
2) COMPLETING A THREAD
3) WRITING POSTS
4) FINISHING APPLICATIONS
5) SUGGESTIONS
6) WINNING OtM'S
7) ADVERTISING
8) QUIDDITCH MATCHES
9) BREAKING RULES
1) PROFESSORS, PREFECTS, HEADS
Obviously, the way it is in the books. Professors, Prefects and Heads can give away house points or take them away. This way will be done IC. If you play any of the three listed above, please post in the appropriate thread with the following code:
[b]Name:[/b] Character
[b]Title:[/b] Professor, Prefect, Head
[b]Points:[/b] How many? Use + or - to signify whether points are being added or subtracted
[b]House:[/b] Which house?
[b]Reason:[/b] What lead to this? Mandatory!
2) COMPLETING A THREAD
Lucky for you, if you complete a thread, you will only gain points. The breakdown and code are below. Please post in the appropriate thread when posting the code. This is for students only. Adults cannot claim points for a house for completing a thread. This does not include mass threads in which there are more than three characters. Posts must be of decent quality!
• 1 page (up to 15 posts): 5 points
• 2 pages (up to 30 posts): 15 points
• 3 pages (up to 45 posts): 20 points
• 4 pages (up to 60 posts): 30 points
• 5 pages (up to 85 posts): 40 points
• 6 pages (up to 100 posts): 50 points
• Anymore than 6 pages or 100 posts will be determined by the admin who sees the request first.
Points will not be divided. Meaning, if a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin completed a thread with 2 pages, each house will receive 15 points. More over, if a Hufflepuff and Hufflepuff complete a thread, each character will gain 15 points for their house, totalling in 30 points. Fill out the following code.

[b]Names:[/b] Characters
[b]Thread:[/b] Link!
[b]House(s):[/b] Character House(s)
3) WRITING POSTS
Some of us make sure that our posts are well-written. We strive really hard, but sometimes the pay-off isn't much or anything at all. Well, now we're offering points for writing a certain number of words. These can be claimed during an on-going thread and the thread does not need to be finished. If the thread is completed, you will gain points for both posting X words and completing the thread. Adults may not claim house points for posts over 250 words. So far, we only have one word count-to-points equation. It is posted below. Please post in the appropriate thread.
• 5 points per 250 words, plus 1 point for every 50 words after 250
The form you need to fill out is:
[size=5][center][u]250+ WORDS[/u][/center][/size]
[b]Name:[/b] Character
[b]Thread:[/b] Link!
[b]Words:[/b] How many?
[b]House:[/b] Character House
4) FINISHING APPLICATIONS
House points can be gained for finishing applications. However, the applications must be outstanding - above and beyond what we ask for them to be. You can receive anywhere from 10 to 15 points for an application; the points will go to the house your character is sorted into. If you make an adult character, those points will go to the house the character was in whilst at Hogwarts. In addition to this, if you create a character from our canon list, you will automatically receive 5 points towards the house the character is sorted into.
5) SUGGESTIONS
Some of our members give us suggestions on how to make the board better. For any suggestion that we use, the house of your choice (providing your character is in that house) will receive 5 points.
6) WINNING OtM'S
We all like to win! And now there's even more reason to. This is restricted to student characters only. For any OtM that your character wins, the house that that character is in will receive 5 points. Pretty great, huh?
7) ADVERTISING
I do as much advertising as I can, but I know some members are on other sites that maybe I haven't seen around before. Or maybe you know of sites I don't. I am giving the members of this roleplay permission to advertise for CASUISTRY. Please only advertise on other roleplay games, not roleplay resource forums. You will receive 5 points to your house of choice per ad, but it cannot exceed 30 points/month. You will need to provide proof of advertising - send a link to the ad on said site to any admin. In addition, if you manage to recruit members, the house of your choice will receive an additional 5 points per recruit.
8) QUIDDITCH MATCHES
As in the books, the first team to catch the snitch will win the game and their house will gain 150 points. Each team will automatically receive 50 points for playing. (So the winning team will gain, in total, 200 points.)
9) BREAKING RULES
You may lose house points if you break any of the rules on the site. For example, avatars are to be exactly 100x100 - not a 200x200 av reduced to 100x100 We usually find out about these things and you'll lose 5 points for every broken rule.
