The Looks [IC]
HAIR COLOR:[/b] Medium brown and around upper- to mid-back length. She generally tries to keep it straight and smooth.
EYE COLOR:[/b] Hazel, with a more greenish tint when she’s excited about something.
SKIN TONE:[/b] Definitely pale

OVERALL APPEARANCE:[/b] The best word to describe how Alice looks overall is soft. Everything about her has a rounded-off look to it, though she’s definitely not overweight or anything. At 5’5”, she’s barely taller than her sister and just about average height. She has two piercings in each earlobe, one on her upper right cartilage, and a belly button ring (but she’d definitely appreciate it if you didn’t tell her parents about that one). She also has a crooked little scar just over her left knee from falling on the remains of a broken glass vase when she was three.

Extras [IC]

LEAST FAVOURITE CLASS:[/b] History of Magic – the worst nightmare of anyone fidgety and forgetful.
BROOM:[/b] Doesn’t have one, thankfully. She’s rather uncoordinated, and not too keen on heights.
PET(S):[/b] A small orange cat, barely a year old at this point, named Milo.
HOBBIES:[/b] She loves to draw, and is pretty good at it – not that she’d show anyone her drawings, because she thinks they’re horrible. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and reading.

Personality [IC]
LIKES:[/b] Cats, watching the sunrise, swing and pop music, using magic, sugar quills, Valentine’s Day, helping people, vegetarian food.
DISLIKES:[/b] Heights, snakes, anything that came from a pig, taking notes, awkward silences, rude or judgmental people, hard rock or heavy metal music.
BAD HABITS:[/b] Eating sweets when she’s worried or frustrated, eavesdropping, biting her lower lip, meddling, doodling instead of paying attention in class
GOOD HABITS:[/b] Waking up early, locking doors behind her (which could also be considered bad, as it's almost to the point of paranoia sometimes), defending others, listening to her parents, and cleaning up after herself (especially papers that might contain her thoughts or drawings).
STRENGTHS:[/b] Listening and giving advice, household and protective spells, keeping secrets, connecting with animals, drawing, talking to people, and
WEAKNESSES:[/b] Troubled boys, her family, carnations, knowing when to nose down, trusting too easily, and remembering things like names, dates, and assignments.
PERSONALITY:[/b] Alice is, to put it simply, a social butterfly. She loves to meet new people and go to various little parties thrown around the school. She opens up pretty fast to people, something that has in the past both done her well and gotten her into trouble. Despite her talkative nature and eagerness to open up, though, she’s surprisingly good at keeping secrets. There are several things that nobody knows about her, and she’d take anyone’s secret to the grave if they asked her to.
That being said, though, she does tend to meddle. A lot. She’s good at telling when something is wrong, and she often won’t back down until she knows what it is. She does give pretty good advice when people ask her for it, and she loves helping people out. She also has a huge soft spot for troubled boys, another thing that has definitely gotten her into trouble. That combined with her readiness to trust people means that she’s easily taken advantage of, and sticking up for herself isn’t something she’s good at. Sticking up for other people, definitely, but when it’s her that needs defending she backs off.

Memories [IC]
BOGGART:[/b] A huge, poisonous snake. A King Cobra or something of the like.
DEMENTOR:[/b] Halfway through her third year at Hogwarts, Alice befriended an aloof fifth-year Ravenclaw boy. In her eyes, he was a bit of a lost soul who just needed help being more social and confident. Her boots to his confidence backfired on her, though, when he turned arrogant and violent. Towards the end of the school year, he lured her into an empty classroom and pinned her to the wall, his wand against her neck. Long story short, her robes were halfway off when there was a sudden knock on the door. He pulled away from her, vowing that he wasn’t finished, then left the room to see who had knocked. The person had obviously been looking for him, because he didn’t come back and no one came in to check on Alice. She did her best to avoid him for the rest of the year, but she’s still afraid of what might happen if she stops being able to. She never told anyone about it.
PATRONUS:[/b] Seeing two of her good friends (one who she’d definitely helped come out of his shell) get together in the beginning of her third year.
MIRROR OF ERISED:[/b] To have an installment in a gallery or a museum that really sends a message and touches peoples’ lives. It used to include being really close to her twin sister, but a part of her has just given up on that.
VERITASERUM:[/b]
AMORTENTIA:[/b] Lavender, vanilla, and freshly cut grass

Family & History [IC]
MOTHER:[/b] Hannah Longbottom (ne’e Abbot). 41-year-old halfblood witch working at the Leaky Cauldron.
FATHER:[/b] Neville Longbottom. 41-year-old pureblood wizard teaching Herbology at Hogwarts.
SIBLINGS:[/b]
OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY:[/b]
HISTORY:[/b] Alice was born into a wonderful, loving, and magical family. Her childhood was, for the most part, a wonderful one. From a very young age, she was fascinated by magic. She was surrounded by it all the time, and spent Septembers from age 3 to age 11 wishing more than anything that she could go with her dad to the school of magic at which he taught. While Abby was interested in the things that their dad did with flowers and plants, Alice followed their mother around and paid as much attention as she could to the little magical things – making items sort themselves, finding something with the flick of a wand, turning on lights with funny words. Her first show of magic was when she was five years old, and she had a grand time turning the lights off every time her mother turned them on. She did this three or four times, giggling wildly, until she couldn’t make it happen any more.
The differences between Alice and her twin didn’t stop at which parent they idolized more: in fact, there were some days Alice thought there were more differences between them than similarities. Despite the slight age gap, Alice always found it easier to talk to and play with Grace. She always got the feeling that Abby thought she was annoying and didn’t want her around. The feeling started in earnest when they were four years old, and Abby fell into a huge hole in their backyard. Alice tried her best to help her sister out of the pit, for fifteen minutes at least, but eventually had to give up and get their mother. After that, Alice really started to notice that her twin sister avoided her during the day, and seemed to trust their parents a lot more than she did Alice. Things got more and more pronounced over the years, and by the time they turned eleven, Alice was happy to be off to Hogwarts for a lot of reasons.
Alice was sorted into Gryffindor, at once a blessing and a curse. Gryffindor was the house her father had been in, and a very admirable house from what she’d heard, but it was the number one rival of Slytherin house, which her sister got sorted into. Despite the reinforced rift between her and Abby, Alice enjoyed her first year at Hogwarts immensely. She made friends quickly in her house and the others, and she dove headfirst into the exciting new course load. She quickly discovered that taking notes was not her strong point, a major hindrance in History of Magic but something that didn’t make much of a difference in her other classes. She tried for most of that year to fix her relationship with her sister, but as summer drew nearer she realized it was practically a lost cause.
She spent most of her summer writing to her friends and drawing – it was then that she found out how much she loved art. It was a good way for her to keep her mind off things, and it was an effective way to combat the loneliness she felt with regards to her sister. The next school year and two summers passed without much eventfulness other than what Alice grew to regard as normal life. She expanded her social circle and started finding more get-togethers to attend. The Weasley kids were common ringleaders, but she found herself bouncing between a lot of different groups. She began discovering her knack for problem-solving, and for picking troubled souls out of a crowd. She had quite a lot of success at getting people to open up and cheer up, but one backfired on her. Near the end of her third year, she was almost raped by one of her “projects”. It made her take a step back and look at herself, what she was doing to make herself so vulnerable. Over the summer, she mostly stayed away from people, something her family immediately noticed as odd. She never told them or anyone else what happened to her, but she did take mental note of their concern and forced herself to stop being such a recluse. Following that decision, she stayed at a friend’s house for a few days and – unbeknownst to her family – got her navel pierced. It was part of her attempt to fool herself into thinking she was tougher than she was, a defense against what happened to her.
Back at Hogwarts for her fourth year, Alice is trying to redefine herself. She can’t help her instinct to save people from themselves, but she’s promised herself to be more careful. She’s back to her friendly, bubbly self, even though there’s now a much more prominent undercurrent of fear and insecurity.
