PERSONALITY:
Rabastan is a complicated man. He was born into a long-standing pureblood family that valued their lines being pure. This value was drilled into Rab at a young age. Any other thought was unacceptable. Rab would do just about anything to keep wizard bloodlines pure (except kill someone; he doesn't have the guts for that.)
Despite being an (ex) Death Eater and being imprisoned for most of his life, Rab does have a heart, though it's rarely seen. The one person he loves more than anything in the world is Noelle Chaucer. She, too, came from a proud pureblood family and though Rab is 15 years her senior, he still wooed her. He doesn't regret his relationship with her at all. He's very proud of her and he wishes that he could change the past so she wouldn't have been exiled from society for having the child of a Death Eater.
Pride is something that Rab could take or leave. As a teenager, he was very proud. But as he grew older, his pride didn't diminish, but he hid it well. He didn't want to seem egotistical, like some of the guys who ran in his circle. Rab is also very calm. He takes the time to think things through and doesn't lose his lid quickly. It takes a lot for him to get angry. However, one thing Rab does struggle with are his feelings. He implodes them. On being a father, Rab is actually scared (though he'd never admit it.)

HISTORY:
He was born in February of 1961, the same year as Regulus Black. He is 11 years younger than his brother Rodolphus.
History up until the end of the second war.
After the second war, Rabastan was caught once again. He was put in Azkaban to live out the remainder of his life. The second time around, Rabastan showed very good behavior. The Ministry decided that maybe some of the 'better' Death Eaters could be rehabilitated into society. This involved visits from friends and family. Some of this visits were conjugal. During one visit with Noelle Chaucer (his girlfriend/lover/etc), things got a bit heated and... weeks later, Rabastan found out he was going to be a father. As it turned out, this program the Ministry had tried failed. And Rabastan returned once again to solitude.
Rabastan spent the next eighteen wondering about his son, hearing only snippets about his life and receiving the odd photo in the post. But then the air changed, Rabastan could feel it. Something was going to happen. It could possibly turn into a war. Good thing he still had ties to the outside world and they needed him.
Because Rabastan Lestrange is back.
And you'd better watch out.
