[rs=2] | Dominique Adele Weasley stands at a tiny five foot one, petite and appearing almost delicate on first meeting, equipped with a slim, boyish body shape and legs to absolutely die for. If one was simply surveying her from across a room, they’d presume that she posed absolutely no threat to anyone around her, except perhaps the power to bring someone to their knees due to the sheer loveliness of her smile (not that it often comes out) or the intensity of her gaze. Anyone assuming such a thing, however, would be terribly mistaken. Dominique was born on the eve of a bitterly cold January the sixth, 2006, to parents Fleur Weasley nee Delacour and William ‘Bill’ Weasley, both well-known and highly respected Second Wizarding War heroes, and both highly credited with great bravery. Fleur was a devastating beautiful French pureblood witch – due to having a Grandmother who was a Veela, Fleur’s beauty went somewhat beyond the realms of normal beauty, being known to having men stop in their tracks and gape at her when she passed them on the streets. Not only was she a well-known member of the Wizarding community due to her role in the Second Wizarding War, her very first claim to fame was the fact that she participated in the Triwizard Tournament when she was seventeen years old. Being picked for such a tournament signalled bravery and intelligence and was a great honour for a young witch or wizard, and it was then, when Fleur visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Britain and competed in the Triwizard Tournament, that she met her future husband, Bill Weasley. Bill Weasley was the eldest of the seven children of Arthur and Molly Weasley, all of whom had vivid red hair and were sorted almost instantly into Gryffindor house in Hogwarts. Bill was an exceptional student in Hogwarts; he was not only popular but he was also greatly talented at Quidditch and had a flair for most of the subjects taught in Hogwarts. In his fifth year, he was given the title of Gryffindor Prefect, and in his seventh year, he was given the honour of being Head Boy of Hogwarts and Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. After leaving school, he became a curse-breaker at Gringotts and consistently fended off his mother’s suggestion of him cutting his hair, which he had been growing long for years. Bill and Fleur were married when Fleur was only nineteen, although their wedding celebrations were cut short by a surprise attack from Death Eaters, the wedding itself being held during the time of the Second Wizarding World War. They moved to a cottage near the beach, given the title Shell Cottage, and still reside their today with their three children; Victoire, Dominique, and Louis. Fleur and Bill had already had one child before Fleur gave birth to Dominique, the then six-year-old Victoire, who did not take to Dominique at all when she first came along. Dominique was a positively shocking baby – despite the fact that she was so small, she could bellow fit to burst and would often simply begin bawling with no warning at all, and the family would scatter around as though she was a fire-alarm, her parents trying to figure out what, exactly, had upset the young girl. Dominique very easily took up all of the attention, even at such a young age, which admittedly made it very understandable as to why Victoire was so jealous of her younger sister, intensely disliking the fact that she was expected to share her toys with Dominique and share her parents with her often-shrieking little sister. The year Dom was born, a lot of her cousins popped into existence along with her; Bill’s brothers Ron, George and Percy all had daughters the same age as Dominique, and Bill’s sister Ginny gave birth to Albus Severus Potter. Not only did she have four cousins the very same age as her, but she also had a variety of other cousins of older ages, presenting Dominique Weasley with a ready-made family before she even had time to appreciate them. Not, of course, that she particularly appreciates her family nowadays, but she has been certainly blessed with the fact that she had always been surrounded by her loved ones. Dominique, however, did not get the undivided attention of her parents for much longer, as the very next year she and Victoire were both given another sibling – their first brother, Louis, who replaced Dom as the youngest in the house. Luckily, Dom, being so young at the time, was utterly oblivious to the fact that their parents would be moving most of their attention onto Louis, and Victoire had seemed to overcome her jealousy by that stage and did not face the sort of problems she’d experienced with Dom. The Delacours were then quite the cheerful little family of five, living in their sweet little Shell Cottage beside the beach, almost a perfect location for any family. They regularly attended family events and Dom became fast friends with all of her cousins, although when she was quite young she was more of a time bomb than a baby – somebody would be holding her, or she would be being passed around from relative to relative, and suddenly she would explode and start bawling her head off or become fiercely grumpy for no reason. Not only was she an extremely unpredictable baby, she was also fiercely curious and could not be unsupervised for a minute, as she was always managing to get herself into trouble. Fleur would set her down for a moment and Dom would be off, crawling across the kitchen at the speed of light, searching for something to play with. Dom was definitely a serious troublemaker by the time she was a toddler, already fierce and strong-willed with a wicked temper and an adventurous, reckless streak. She was a handful when she was younger, forever running around the place and swinging from trees and stealing chocolates from the stash in the cupboard and climbing over furniture. She could get into positively horrific moods as well, when she became hyperactive and full of energy and was just overflowing with spirit and became positively restless and would do all she could to be an absolute menace, often resulting in being yelled at by her mother for breaking something-or-other or making Louis or one of her cousins cry. Despite this, Dominique did have a certain likableness – people were drawn to her despite how difficult her personality could be at times, because she was fun and cheery and vivacious and brave and said what she wanted and had an absolutely wicked sense of humour. Dominique was most definitely a character, something she’s always been terribly proud of, and as a young girl, although she was never a tomboy, exactly, she was always seen as very, very tough, often engaging in full-out wrestles with her siblings or cousins, regardless if they were male or female. Her long nails were a particularly helpful weapon, and she yielded them with pride, thus making any fights she had often resulting in her almost scratching someone’s eyes out, and she’s been famed with pulling hair from her opponents’ heads. No matter how many times she was berated harshly for it, Dominique constantly won arguments with reaching over, grabbing someone’s hair and giving it a good tug – a simple, yet effect move. Dominique officially started playing Quidditch when she was seven. The week before her seventh birthday, she marched into her father’s study, arms crossed over her chest, chin jerked upwards, and told her father that the only thing she wanted for her birthday was a broomstick, the best sort money could buy, and for him to teach her how to be the best player anyone could ever find. Her father laughed, told her he couldn’t promise anything, and yet on the day of her seventh birthday she was presented with a fantastic broomstick, and her first proper Quidditch lesson from some of her uncles and aunts and, of course, her father. While all the rest of her family – it was a big family bash, all of the cousins being invited – were inside, feasting on the delicious food Fleur had made, Dom was in the garden all day, learning how to play Quidditch with a determined look on her face. Once Dom had decided that she wanted to be the best Quidditch Player one could come across, it was set in absolute stone; from her seventh birthday on, it was her ultimate dream to be a Professional Quidditch Player once she left Hogwarts, and absolutely nothing could sway her away from this decision. Dom, unlike many people, had no intention of faffing about over a profession, had no intention of testing the waters; Dominique Adele Weasley knew what she wanted, and being a Professional Quidditch Player was not only what she wanted, it was what she was going to be, and she knew that better than anyone else. Luckily Dom had not only been gifted with determination and perseverance, she had also been gifted with unnerving confidence and thus was not at all cowed by telling people exactly what she was going to be, or wearing her heart on her sleeve about her biggest ambition ever. Dom never said, “I want to be a Professional Quidditch Player” when she was younger; she had always said, “I’m going to be a Professional Quidditch Player” and this piece of information was relayed unapologetically. Dominique, luckily, got on very well with all of her cousins, which basically guaranteed her four friends already when she was to enter her first year at Hogwarts. Although she could often engage in arguments with her cousins, mostly they were all off causing trouble or playing together, and Dom had quite a good relationship with all of them – Rose, Roxanne, Molly and Albus were all different but Dom honestly did love them all the same, although Dom, believing that using the word ‘love’ was far too mushy indeed for casual conversation, never said it in so many words, instead showing her love in spending time with them or inviting them over to hers or spending hours upon hours with them, simply talking or playing or fooling around in the way only young children could. Being in a magical family, it was of course no surprise that Dom received a Hogwarts letter when she turned eleven, although she was still immensely proud of it and practically shoved it in everyone’s face the moment she received it, particularly Louis and her younger cousins. At this stage of her life, Dom was still the vivacious, somewhat wild young girl she’d always been, confident and fierce and a bit oddly-tempered, but she’d also developed a bit of a careless nature, which was somewhat worrying for her parents – Dom honestly didn’t seem to appear as if she cared about anything whatsoever, and often did just as she pleased. Her toughness was also somewhat of a concern for Bill and Fleur, as she could be so merciless and vicious sometimes that she would almost border on bullying or victimising someone, something that they pointed out to Dom quite a lot, and something that she ignored effortlessly every time it was pointed out to her. And so Dominique started Hogwarts with a certain advantage, one not many other first years could boast – she had quite a few friends there already. Not only did she have the cousins in her year, and various other years, she also had children of her family’s friends, and so Dominique knew she had absolutely nothing to worry about – not that Dominique would ever deign to worry in her life, being far too cool for such a thing. She waltzed onto Platform Nine and Three Quarters looking thoroughly unbothered by absolutely everything, waving her parents away from her and hopping onto the train without a look back. On the train, she made a name for herself as being the particularly loud first-year, with a wicked tongue and a disarming sense of self-importance that somewhat flummoxed older years. Dominique had a knack of acting like the Queen Bee, and she had absolutely no problem in starting off with that act the minute she met the other first years. Once they got to Hogwarts, she was immediately sorted into Gryffindor House, the house that had always been expected for her, and she strutted down to the Gryffindor table to loud applause, and was joined moments later by her cousin Rose. Molly, Albus and Roxanne went to Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw respectively, Albus making history by being the first of the Potter/Weasley family to be sorted into Slytherin. Dom, however, was not very much shocked when she considered the three and the houses they were sorted into, deciding that the Sorting Hat was very much right with the places he slotted them all into; they all fitted their houses undoubtedly very well. The year that Dominique started Hogwarts was an especially big year for Gryffindor first-year girls, and she was joined in her dormitory not only by her cousin Rose, but by the pretty, bubbly, rich blonde Chloe Nott, the equally pretty, although somewhat fiercer, blonde Eva Faraday, the soon-to-be-famed-bitch Dianna Grey, the red-headed Nicola Tremlett, the totally mad brunette, Cassie Lewis, Jocasta Kirke, who Dom thought to be something of a hippy, although quite interesting indeed and the rather prude-y but ultimately quite nice Freya Fletcher. Dominique and Rose were already quite close, of course, and thus had the other one to fall back on, but both being quite confident and very much able to make friends, they needn’t have relied on each other at all. Rose became fast friends with Chloe Nott, who initially seemed somewhat upset by the fact that she had been placed in a different house to her twin brother, and also Jocasta Kirke, forming a sort of threesome with them, although Dominique always got on well with Chloe and would consider herself to this day good friends with her. Dominique found her true best friends, however, in Eva Faraday and Cassie Lewis. Eva and Dom could have easily clashed, and often did, having somewhat similar personalities, but they also agreed on many things and became firm friends from first year on, being a sort of terrifying two to come across and often getting in trouble together and not giving a damn about it. Dominique would simply consider Cassie a sort of soulmate to her – with their sheer amount of craziness in common and the same music taste she could consider Cassie as absolutely nothing else. Not only did Dominique have these two, but she also established a firm friendship with a Gryffindor boy by the name of Lachlan Creevey, although as the years flew by their relationship progressed from platonic friendship to flirtation to something far more complicated than one could quite put into words. Dominique also considered the Scamander twins, Lorcan and Lysander, very close to her indeed, although she often scoffed at what she considered their sheer hopelessness at times. With these friends (and many others) Dominique was very much set for first year, although she did, of course, become very much known to Professors as being something of a Little Madam, with a general disregard of the rules, a certain amount of disrespect for authority figures and a reckless streak. Not only did she become a prime suspect in any wrong-doings in the year, Dom also managed to cultivate a couple of enemies, taking strongly against certain people, sometimes for no solid reason at once, and often managing to get them to dislike her in turn, being gifted at riling people up and always one to start a fight, even and especially a physical fight. When first year finished, Dom’s main offences were her hot temper, her downright cheekiness at times, the fact that she rarely did her homework or any sort of work in class, and her unsettling careless attitude, although she was also linked to many pranks that had her hauled up to the Head of Gryffindor, Jack Hewer, who she rather liked, despite everything, although she regularly tried to drive him up the wall whenever she could and hoped she was the bane of his existence. Dom, however, was happy, and rather well-liked regardless. During the summer after first year, she played even more Quidditch and began listening to old, quite hardcore rock music, starting to develop a particular style. Dom, like most young girls, though, was a tad insecure, as she’d sort of trained herself to appear tough and fierce at all times, disliking the fact that people seemed to assume that girls were over-emotional and weak, bit this was something of a strain for her, as she felt as though she had to constantly bottle up her own emotions. She had a certain type of style she wanted, a certain type of personality she wanted to fit, but it was almost as though she was pressuring herself far too much to fit these things, making her the exact opposite of what, exactly, she wanted to be. These difficulties were kept under wraps, though; ask almost anyone about Dominique Weasley, and you will be told that she has always been utterly confident and tough and fierce and sort of mad, without being aware that she is not only these things but also a bit insecure and unsure of herself, in a way that unsettled her deeply. From eleven she used make-up, always very well done and nicely applied, never too bright or messy or too old, and she wore, usually, simply jeans and a normal t-shirt, making it easy for her to run about and work off all the energy she had within her. Unlike other girls her age, she was never uncomfortable around the opposite sex, and never particularly bothered to seem more attractive to them other than the sparse amount of make-up she used, and never bothered herself with the nervous type of flirting most girls her age tried out. When Dominique turned thirteen was the year that she properly stopped giving a fuck about everything; she never really truly snapped and suddenly decided she didn’t care one day, and believes still that it was something that was growing inside of her from a very young age indeed. The week before she went back for her third year in Hogwarts she piled up all of her beauty products and chucked them, and then chucked any sort of clothing she didn’t really like, and started dressing how she’d always wanted to dress, in long, grunge-y t-shirts, somewhat scruffy, and ridiculously short skirts to show off her devastating legs, with shoes to die for always shoved on her feet. She never particularly bothered with her hair after that, either, chucking it up into a scruffy bun and going out into the world with a ‘take-me-or-leave-me’ attitude. She hacked away at her school skirt until it was short and the ends were frayed, sewed badges onto her schoolbag, painted her chipped nails dark colours. She was still very much the crazy, vivacious, too-loud Dominique Weasley, but she had really and truly decided to not care what people thought, and that included wearing make-up or fussing with her hair or dressing like other girls her age did. Dom never thought that she was any particular beauty but she decided that, on the whole, her one-eighth Veela blood would have to tide her through sometime and if people didn’t like the way she looked without make-up, they would simply have to deal with it. She returned to school and was perhaps even worse behaved than she had been the previous two years, giving more lip to her Professors than one would deem possible and going even further on the scale of rebellious – she first tried drinking when she was thirteen, which seemed rather young as not many of her friends drank then, but she wanted the first experience over and done with. She also tried out smoking, but coughed and gagged and refused to ever go back to it afterwards. Dominique also became far more involved with boys than she ever had been before; although Dom was very pretty indeed, it was not often noticed as she was so sharp and prickly that her features didn’t often soften, but there was definitely something undeniably hot about her that made her into something of a boy magnet for a while, although it was a running joke that Dom scared off many boys – which was partly quite true. Although she did get into snogging, and going even further than that, first when she was thirteen, she remained a virgin, never really believing that any boy she knew was worthy of taking her virginity from her. She was never ashamed of being a virgin, and never felt the push to lose her virginity before everyone else; it didn’t matter to her. Dominique also tried out for the Quidditch team and was immediately slotted into it at thirteen, which was the real start of her Quidditch career in Hogwarts, and what she felt was the first step towards being a Professional Quidditch Player. She was a chaser, and a bloody good one at that, despite being one of the youngest on the team, and she always worked almost twice as hard as everyone else did, and never had any qualms about hurting anyone on the Pitch, which meant quite a lot of people were rather pleased that she wasn’t a beater and therefore couldn’t brandish a bat at them at any given moment if they were to piss her off. Dom had a particular rivalry against the Slytherin Quidditch Team, as she often clashed with Slytherins, and became even more aggressive during those games. It became clear to all that Dominique Weasley was not one to be messed with; although small and petite, she was also strong and quick and fierce and ready for a fight at any given moment. Fourth year passed without much of a hitch; another inch was hacked off Dominique’s school skirt and she became even worse behaved, skipping class whenever she could and never hesitating to attend parties and getting incredibly drunk, and even dabbling in drugs once or twice, although she never made a regular thing of it. Dominique was never really a rebel, never truly trying to self-destruct – she simply believed in enjoying herself and was always a bit too wild for other people to handle, but on the whole was very much happy. She was reminded ever fortnight or so by Professors that she had her OWLs the next year but they were duly ignored, and she earned sort of a reputation as a wild-child, a party girl, and in fifth year she was given the nickname Insane Weasley by Scorpius Malfoy, a Slytherin boy in Dominique’s year who she was never particularly fond of whatsoever and never made that a secret – her distaste for him even spread to his siblings and his cousin, Sebastian Nott, also a Slytherin boy in their year. Insane Weasley stuck, however, as it was rather fitting for Dominique, and she still gets called it every now and then, a fact that is deeply irritating to her and she seriously wishes she could punch Scorpius in the face for christening her with it. Dominique’s hatred of Scorpius had to be somewhat reined in, however, as in their fifth year Scorpius began dating Roxanne, Dominique’s much-beloved Ravenclaw cousin, a fact that Dominique was deeply unimpressed and somewhat disturbed by. Scorpius and Roxanne appeared very happy, however, and so Dominique managed to stop being quite so vicious towards Scorpius, although once someone got her on the subject she was unable to stop herself from complaining about him obnoxiously. Dominique did no studying whatsoever for her OWLs, and even sneaked out to a party in the Muggle World the night before her Defence Against the Dark Arts Exam, sauntering into the Great Hall the morning after with her hair an absolute mess and dark circles underneath her eyes, a worn-out yet triumphant smile on her face as she took her seat next to her friends, radiating smugness. Needless to say she did absolutely terrible in all of them, barely scraping through on a couple and only managing to pass Care of Magical Creatures, which she actually quite enjoyed and did turn up for a lesson every now and then. Her parents were absolutely furious with her results, but Dominique shrugged off their fury, not at all bothered by it, and spent the summer after her fifth year either curled up in Shell Cottage watching movies or partying in style. It was the summer after fifth year that her relationship with long time friend Lachlan Creevey became truly complicated, due to the fact that after a day shopping in London they ended up snogging on her sofa in Shell Cottage, which effectively put something of a strain on their relationship. Dominique, sensing that either Lachlan would start having feelings for her, or she – heaven forbid – would start having feelings for him, pushed these all to one side and decided not to contact him at all throughout the rest of the summer, although somehow twisting everything inside her head and deciding that everything was his fault and that he was the one not getting in contact with her. She was thoroughly irritated by him by the time school started again and sat with Lysander Scamander instead of Lachlan, who she would have usually hunted out on the first day of school along with Eva and Cassie. When Dom was making her way down the train, however, she ran into Lachlan and they, once again, engaged in a snogging session which was interrupted by the appearance of Roxanne Weasley, Dominique’s cousin, and everything was made clear then – that Lachlan had kissed Roxanne Weasley despite the fact that Roxanne was going out with Scorpius at the time, that it was Roxanne who Lachlan really liked, that Dominique – or so she felt – had been totally played. Pride hurt, Dominique not only was furious at Lachlan, but also Roxanne, and she ended up being on bad terms with both, storming off without taking one look back. She decided that Roxanne was too sensitive for her own good and that Lachlan was a lousy prick, and devoted herself to being the way she always was – careless and reckless and fun, but she was, instead, highly grumpy and snapped at almost anyone those first few weeks in September. Dominique and Roxanne had been friends since they were born, however, and their relationship was impossible not to heal; after running into each other they attempted to work things out, and Dominique at once rushed back to Roxanne’s side when she found out that Roxanne had had a pregnancy scare. Simultaneously furious at and full of love for her cousin, Dominique found herself realising that she had no real reason to blame anything on Roxanne whatsoever and the two became friends again, although Dominique’s relationship with Lachlan Creevey was not so easily fixed, and every encounter they had that year was full of arguing and flirtation and anger and they went through stages of almost being friends again and then suddenly being enemies, which was exhausting to say the very least. It was odd, because Dom had always hated the thought of having a boyfriend or being tied down in a relationship, and yet she disliked it intensely when Lachlan was with someone else, and yet she knew that she didn’t really want to be with him. It was so dreadfully peculiar that she decided the best thing to do was to ignore him completely, to stop being friends with him entirely. And then, towards the end of sixth year, she met Ian Fleming, a completely delicious nineteen-year-old who once paid a visit to Hogwarts and with whom she immediately struck up a conversation with, and who she surprisingly took to almost immediately, although she was somewhat taken aback by his sheer niceness at times – he wasn’t too nice, though, quite a healthy balance, and she realised that she rather liked him, which was unheard of Dom – to like someone after a single meeting, that was, as she usually made people work hard to get into her good books. The summer after sixth year was a fairly eventful one; she was told time and time again by her parents to pull her socks up, and they were duly ignored; Victoire, her older sister, returned from France, and Dominique informed her of her ex-fiancé, Teddy Lupin, and their cousin Molly having sex (which fractured Dom and Molly’s otherwise close relationship); Dominique and Lachlan, yet again, fell out, and Dom swore to destroy Lachlan if he ever crossed her again; Dominique decided that she wouldn’t mind doing Eva’s older brother Ben; Dominique was given the title of Quidditch Captain, although it was no surprise to anyone, least of all herself, as she had expected it from the very moment she joined the team in third year. Dominique also had her first date, with Ian Fleming, a rather nice experience, although she had had quite a lot of stressing out over it beforehand, quite a new feeling for Dom, who rarely ever bothered to stress. Nowadays, Dominique is in seventh year, just having started, and is not feeling any sort of stress whatsoever, having her entire life plan worked out for her – become a Professional Quidditch Player, party every weekend, squeeze out a couple of kids eventually, and live a long and eventful life. She’s still very much the same as she was when she was a younger, and can be an awfully tricky person to get along with sometimes, as she can be almost obnoxiously loud and wild, vivacious and witty, fierce and violent, and even a bit mad, but she does have a slightly gentle streak that has been making more of an appearance for the past couple of months, and every now and again people are faced with a slightly more tender side of Dominique Weasley, which can be a treat in itself. She’s still tough as old nails, however, and doesn’t put up with any crap from anybody, and nobody should ever forget that – crossing Dominique Weasley is one of the stupidest things a person could do, regardless of her height or delicate features, because, when it comes down to it, she’s a force to be reckoned with. |
