DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: no piercings or tattoos - she thinks they "disfigure" her body - but a large scar on her left side from an accident when practising duelling, aged eighteen.
SKIN TONE: fair and rosy but can get tanned very quickly in hot weather.

PERSONALITY: Tessa is bright and vivacious, a young lady determined to live life to the full. She's been brought up by her grandmother to be an incredibly strong and independent young woman and this she does with aplomb. She's witty and cultured and, while she has a very short temper, she tends to approach difficult situations with a very clear head, and is very good at seeing loopholes and escape routes out of things she's not comfortable with.
She's a little embittered about the loss of her mother at a young age and never having the sort of family that other children did, and these days she channels that bitterness into doing her job as well as she can, trying to keep her mind off it. She dotes on her grandmother and her cousin and she's almost fanatically loyal, recently having been helping her grandmother out with her latest hobby.
She hates small children but, perversely, is very good with them, and has often been told that she'll make a great mother. Because she detests them so she never intends to have any. She hates being emotionally connected to anybody more than she already is. Her independent nature causes this.

[/font][/center]FATHER: unknown to Tessa, although she takes his surname. Tessa's mother, Stefania, became pregnant young - around twenty - and the man she was pregnant by disappeared shortly afterwards. The Italian authorities decided that he drowned himself. Tessa is still in touch with his sister and his niece, her cousin Evianna, her best friend.
MOTHER: Stefania Niccolazzi Salvadori; deceased. Tessa's mother died shortly after she was born and left Tessa to be raised by her doting grandmother.
CHILDREN: none.
OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY:
Grandmother - Luisella Niccolazzi; 65, no job. She raised Tessa by herself.
Cousin - Evianna Wickham; 25, Ministry Worker. Tessa's best friend and partner-in-crime all the way through school and remains that way today.
HISTORY: Tessa was born in a small town in Italy to a single mother, Stefania. Shortly after Tessa's birth, her father was discovered dead, washed up on a beach some way to the West of the town. Barely a few months later, Tessa's mother took her own life, leaving Tessa to be brought up by her grandmother.
Doting but strict and ferocious, Luisella Nicolazzi was determined to raise her granddaughter to be the girl her daughter never was. Tessa inherited Luisella's ruthless streak and her determination to get the job done no matter the cost, and this served her well when she eventually went to Hogwarts. With her cousin Evianna Wickham, her father's niece, Tessa was Sorted into Gryffindor. The two girls quickly became queens of their year - beautiful, smart, and charismatic, they attracted others like leprechauns to gold and remained very popular throughout their school years.
They graduated with identical grades, the top in their year, and Evianna went to work in the Ministry while Tessa quickly rose through the ranks of St Mungo's and is now on the management board. She's so pleased about this, because her grandmother always wanted her to do well in life and she feels like she's finally starting to.

"EVIANNA!" she shrieked, brandishing a pair of laddered tights in front of her like a warning, "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOT TO BORROW MY TIGHTS?!"
She stormed through into the kitchen and threw the pair down on the table, glaring at her cousin and raising an eyebrow, waiting for a response.
