PERSONALITY: In one word (and how most people would describe her), Lissie is sweet. She feels for basically every living thing (even Voldemort at times because he never got to know the best feeling in the world: love; but she’ll never admit this.) Lissie believes that there is good in everyone, which causes her to trust others far too quickly. However, no matter how many times she is hurt by this fault, Lissie doesn’t change. She’ll make excuses for the person who treated her badly or spread rumors about her. Lissie is the complete opposite of her eldest brother, Jack. She’s introverted while he’s extroverted.
Lissie can sometimes come off as cold or withdrawn. But this is merely because she’s extremely shy and quiet. She won’t go out of her way to make friends. Slightly contradictory of trusting too easily, Lissie is afraid to make deep emotional connections with people. She believes that those people will leave her. She knows that she had to guard her heart in order to keep herself from being hurt. It’s different, she says, to have an acquaintance leave or hurt you. Her feelings have a tendency to get hurt easily, but she never lets it show. She is be very serious, logical and blunt most times, as a way of deflecting her hurt.
Though she’s heterosexual, Lissie tends to be oblivious when it comes to boys and flirting. She doesn’t understand how to flirt. She’s never had a boyfriend and she’s never been kissed, either. Most times, other girls call her prude. Lissie doesn’t see the point in sleeping with various guys, but she won’t judge those girls who do – there must be a reason. However, she believes strongly in love and trusts that one day, true love will find her. A true lover will accept all of her quirks.
She strives to please those around her (especially her professors.) Lissie is studious, though she disastrous in Potions. She doesn’t feel comfortable transforming objects in Transfiguration and she doesn’t want to hurt anyone in DADA. (Because of this, she feels as though she’s letting Jack down.) She prefers safe subjects like Ancient Runes or Herbology. Lissie also tends to be a bit clumsy.
Overall, Lissie tries to be an adult, but she’s still just a young girl at heart. She’s not as confidante as she seems.

HISTORY: Lissie is the youngest (and the only girl) of the Hewer family. She was born to older parents, who probably hadn’t been excepting to have another child. She was a quiet baby, never interacting much with her surroundings, but always observing them. She started showing signs of magic very early on in life, at age four.
Growing up with four brothers, Lissie was a bit of a tomboy. She wanted to be like her brothers, since that was all she knew. She even begged for a boy’s name, so Jack decided that she could be called Abe. Lissie’s mother, however, wanted her daughter to act like a girl should. So she forced her daughter to wear dresses, do up her hair, listen to certain music. She even enrolled Lissie in piano lessons. At first, the small girl resisted these things; she wanted to play outside with her brothers. However, it wasn’t long before she transformed into the girl every mother would want.
When Lissie was seven, her father became ill. Jack returned home to help care for his siblings and his ailing parents. Lissie grew very attached during this time. She spent most of her time trailing after him, begging him to read stories or play with her. After a long sickness and long battle to cancer, their father died. Lissie was only eight. She didn’t fully understand what had happened, but everyone seemed to be very sad. She found comfort in Jack; he soothed all of her fears away and helped her through the funeral. He also helped her sort out her feelings. However, a few days after their father’s funeral, Jack left. He told Lissie he’d be back (she assumed he meant for her), but months passed before Jack did return. Lissie was angry with him for walking out on her. But even at a young age, she hid how she was really feeling.
It would seem that Lissie would develop a better relationship with her mother. But this wasn’t the case. She did everything her mother asked, but was never really there. She withdrew from her mother to the point where she didn’t initiate conversation; she only spoke if she was spoken to first. And even then, she didn’t say a lot. Words couldn't help the small girl express her feelings. Lissie played her piano and painted to show her true feelings and work through her pain.
Part of being a ‘proper girl’ meant getting the right education. Lissie received her acceptance letter from Hogwarts, but her mother insisted on the girl going to Beauxbatons. So Lissie did. She didn’t like it and she didn’t know the language. How was she supposed to learn magic when it was taught in a different language? Lissie felt incompetent and she often messed up her potions or spells. Because of this, she didn’t make friends quickly. Most of the other students made fun of her, but she never did anything to fight back. Determined to make her second year better, Lissie got a French tutor during the summer. She practiced hard and was able to understand much better that year. She made some friends and everything seemed to be good.
Recently, though, Lissie has suffered another heartbreak. Her mother passed away, leaving her only underage child abandoned. Lissie took the death of her mother ‘fairly well’ (according to her second eldest brother with whom she argues most); but this isn’t the case. Inside, she’s a mess. She goes from feeling wonderful to feeling like crying in seconds. To make matters worse, the way Louise Hewer has yet to be confirmed. It's all very confusing for Lissie. But she tucks this all away very well. Her mother’s death has caused another change for Lissie: she now needs a new guardian. That guardian is Jack. She begged him to stay at Beauxbatons to finish her fourth year, but he wouldn’t have any of it. He didn’t want her to be alone during a time like this.
So now Lissie’s at Hogwarts. She’s got to start all over again. And she’s not sure she can do it.
