It came to the attention of the admins (by Becca herself) that Dianna Grey was awfully mean and there must be some explanation for that, other than her just being a bully. Obviously, Dianna is able to make friends, so she's not a sociopath. So, the admin team has decided to give Dianna Grey a real, solid background.
We're posting this for the public to see because it's very important for those of us who play Dianna Grey from time to time to know. However, this information (in character) cannot go past Dianna. This means that no other characters, even Dianna's closest friends, know her history. It also means that Dianna will not speak about it. If, at some point during the plot, you'd like Dianna to confide in another character, you must get permission from every single admin.
If these rules are found broken, your privileges to roleplay Dianna Grey will be taken away. Now, onto her history:

If these rules are found broken, your privileges to roleplay Dianna Grey will be taken away. Now, onto her history:
Dianna Grey was born to a Marylou and Stephen Grey. She was a happy baby who thrived in her home. Her mother was (and still is) a Ministry official. Her father used to work at St. Mungo's (he doesn't anymore.) They spoilt their daughter. However, when she was three, Dianna's father left his family - for another man. Marylou was devastated and blamed her daughter; Stephen had always wanted a boy. If they'd had a boy, then Stephen wouldn't have left (Dianna's mother was convinced.) This reason alone provided Marylou with enough hatred towards her daughter to turn cold.
The abuse Dianna endured first started out small - harder spanks (maybe with one object or another), little slaps on her hands or the bottoms of her feet, pulling of her hair and sometimes a slap across the face. Dianna, as a young girl, didn't understand why her mother did what she did. She never seemed to learn from her mistakes. So Marylou took the abuse a bit further.
After a particularly stressful day at work, Marylou was eating dinner with her daughter when Dianna spilled her cup of juice. This outraged Marylou. She hit Dianna so hard that the girl fell from her chair, landing forcefully on the floor. Seeing her daughter vulnerable and hurt, Marylou did the one thing her mother had done to her: she molested Dianna. That same abuse had kept Marylou in line as a girl and now it was Dianna's time to learn the hard way.
And it worked. Dianna learned her place quickly and stayed in line. She thought it might make her mother stop, but Marylou didn't. The sexual abuse Dianna endured as a small child continues to this day.
This abuse has made Dianna who she is today. She's a bully because she gets bullied at home. Her mother is ruthless, doing anything to come out on top. Dianna has followed in her footsteps with this trait. Also, because of her sexual abuse, this has made Dianna quite promiscuous. She may enjoy sex, but the main reason she sleeps around is because she constantly feels as though she needs to prove herself. Even though no one knows about her home life, she has to have sex with guys (many guys) to prove (to herself) that she's not homosexual.
Those thoughts are what cause Dianna to appear as a homophobic. She is constantly making fun of the gay students at Hogwarts or calling straight people gay. Dianna has an intense fear of becoming homosexual. One, she's terrified to death of what her mother might do if she does turn out to be gay. Two, one often wonders (when sexually abused by someone of the same sex) if they're gay because it's their choice or because of the abuse. But either way it's bad (in Dianna's eyes.)
