I WALK THIS EMPTY STREET
Personality
DISLIKES: Losing, arrogance in others, anybody thinking they're better than him, girls who say no, people hurting the people he's close to.
LIKES: Winning, beating everyone else to a pulp, being dominant in a group, being famous, sticking up for his friends.
BAD HABITS: Takes out his temper on those around him indiscriminately, tends to be a very poor loser, uses his good-looks to get into girls' pants.
GOOD HABITS: Tries his very hardest to be good at anything he does - never slacks off, always backs his friends up no matter what, does his own laundry.
WEAKNESSES: Pretty girls, flashy cars, his arrogance, refuses to admit that actually he's not such a bad guy.
STRENGTHS: A wit so sharp he often leaves others speechless, has a kind heart beneath it all, is actually extremely good at Quidditch, when he's on your side he's on it 110% and will go to any lengths to help you.
PERSONALITY: Spoilt wildly by his Muggle father until the age of about seven, at which point his witch mother left them and his father started to ignore him, Xander is bitchy, arrogant, and devastatingly aware of his own attractiveness to the opposite sex. He tends to eschew formalities, preferring to take the easy option when it comes to socialising. He is a terrible womaniser and can literally have girls swarming him just by walking in the room. Unfortunately, being a famous Quidditch player doesn't help this. Undoubtedly, his charisma and flawless command of sarcasm has given him a massive leg-up in the publicity market, making him a schoolgirl pin-up despite being only 23 and meaning he can march into a room and turn heads just by force of personality.
Despite his self-absorbed character, he has a terribly vulnerable side that only escapes his control when something really hurts him, like the pain of a friend or a snub by someone who means a lot to him. This seldom-exposed side has led to him becoming somewhat of a darling to the Quidditch fans. He does, beneath it all, have a kind heart, and he's loyal to his friends to the end. It kills him if they show disapproval of his actions. He doesn't like to show this, but those closest to him are aware of it, and it's one of the reasons his friends stay so close to him.
Nobody, even those who detest him (probably rightly) for his attitude, can deny that he really does deserve his place as a leading Quidditch light. He tries dreadfully hard, training as many hours a day - often more - than are required of him. Even if he has regular rows with his team's coach, who doesn't appreciate being told how to do his job, Xander leads by example and spends most of his free time training or in the gym, when he's not out on the town with his mates. He's terribly courageous, a Gryffindor through-and-through, but he displays a Slytherin-quick ability to put-down when somebody irritates him, and this courage lands him in trouble as often as it pulls something off for him.

MIRROR OF ERISED: To win all his Quidditch games until he decides to return to the Muggle horse world, where he'll win an Olympic Gold for show jumping, then ride his own horses to victory in the Gold Cup, the Grand National and the King George (although not necessarily in that order).
VERITASERUM: 1) sometimes he thinks that he'd like to settle down and start a family.
2) he hates his mother for abandoning him, really loathes her.

AND IM THE ONLY ONE
Familyhistory
FATHER: Valentine "Valent" Hawkley, 47 - a Muggle man, who was a show jumper of international standards and was part of the British team that won an Olympic Gold as well as winning many other competitions. He doted on his only son until his beautiful wife left him when Alexander was 7, and then Xander reminded him too much of him and so Valent distracted himself with a bevy of increasingly young wives who all wanted him for a sugar daddy. As a consequence he cut himself off from his son and displays little interest in him these days, apart from to retain a few extremely good event horses that he vaguely hopes Alexander might ride in the Olympics some day.
MOTHER: Georgina Hawkley (nee Yaxley), 45 - left Alexander's father when their son was 7 to live with the man she'd been having an affair with since Xander was 2. A pureblood witch, she would have disgraced herself by marrying a Muggle had the Muggle not been so rich, owned such a lovely manor house, and been quite high-up in British society. As a result, she was only ignored rather thn disowned, and accepted back quite happily when she left both him and her son behind. Now lives somewhere in Italy with her latest lover, a 30-something Brazilian called Pedro.
CHILDREN: None.
OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY: several cousins on his mother's side who he knows nothing about, having been banned from meeting them and they never told about him, and no relatives apart from an elderly great-aunt on his father's side, called Doris, who likes her great-nephew enormously but disapproves of his habits and doesn't understand magic.
HISTORY: Alexander is a guy who's had the world handed to him on a platter. His Muggle father was extremely rich and spoilt his young, only son rotten until the age of about seven, when Xander's witch mother pushed off and remarried several times. After this Xander's father did the same, marrying increasingly younger women and totally neglecting his son. Xander was expected to be good at everything, and really did try very hard. His sense of his own self-importance grew when he went to Hogwarts, got sorted into Gryffindor and, while not getting the best grades by a long way, his bravery and skill on the Quidditch pitch led to him being offered a place on one of the Quidditch league's best teams as a chaser.
Having been raised by his Muggle father, an ex-Olympic show jumper, Xander pratically grew up on horseback and he is of the private opinion that this is the only reason he's so good at Quidditch. If his career in Quidditch ever fails, he plans to return to the Muggle world and become either a show jumper or a jump jockey, whichever he fancies more at the time.
He passed out of Hogwarts with an acceptable number of NEWTs, and exploded onto the Quidditch scene. A combination of his good looks, badboy habits and irresistible charisma led to him becoming very famous very quickly. This, naturally, went straight to his head, and he's never humbled down since, except from around his very closest friends, who he trusts with his life.
Having endured a horrific, neglected eleven years at home, Xander was delighted to leave Hogwarts, get his own place, screw as many women as he could lay his hands on and get plastered. He had to ration himself, however, as he wanted to make sure he became a really top-notch Quidditch player. He's still not quite there, and is often accused of just being a pretty-boy rather than an actual player, a gimmick to draw the crowds. He proves this wrong regularly, showing that while he might not be up with the best yet, he's got the guts and determination to do it.
AND I WALK ALONE

Xander raced into the changing rooms at six in the morning, looking far more cheerful than anybody had a right to look at that time, crowing in victory about some girl he'd pulled as he whipped off his shirt and jeans and dragged on his Quidditch gear.
Beaming as he headed out to the pitch, he was stopped by a teammate, who inquired how he could be so happy when he'd been out so late last night.
"Haven't been to bed yet," Xander explained, laughing, "I think the firewhiskey's still working."
Hiccoughing to prove his point, he headed out onto the pitch, managing to walk in an impressively straight line.
