PERSONALITY: Gloria is basically a very career oriented person, she’s rarely ever interested in something else. It takes a lot to take her away from her work and still more difficult to part her when she is researching.
Her never give up spirit helps her in researching and she prides herself on the fact that she never gets tired of working. Work is her leisure; leisure is tedium.
Growing up with two older brothers had taught her the workings of the male mind and she cringes away from it each time she encounters them. In all her life she has never gone on a date and intends for it to be the same way for the rest of her life. She is one of the very few people in the hospital who sees Mark Dashwood as a normal human being.
Working for so long in the hospital has made her addicted to a few habits like cleanliness and orderliness. Consequently, she unconsciously cleans out every place she goes to. It annoys her family, but there is nothing she could do to help.
Like in a normal Pureblood family, she hides her emotions well, but she feels that a smile hides your true thoughts better than a poker face. Gloria, unlike her mother and sister, hates make up, dresses and partying. Not to mean that she is a tom boy, but she doesn’t see the need for constantly checking her appearance in the mirror.
She is also interested in Muggle Literature and has a secret stash of books hidden in her apartment.

HISTORY: Born in a family that has been dabbling in the Dark Arts invariably meant that Gloria had to learn it to a certain level too. And that was what she did for a little of her childhood. Being the youngest in the family meant being protected but Gloria was resistant, insisting that she was old enough to break out of the family’s rather suffocating smothering.
When she was five, she watched her grandfather die and while she did not cry(she never does), she felt it affect her very much. It was years later that she found out that it was because she hate seeing people suffer.
When she was six, her brother fell off his broom while practicing and her mother tried her best to clean and heal the wound but it wasn’t much use. Gloria, in her desperate need to see her brother smile, performed her first bit of magic. It was shaky and lasted only a minute, but seeing her brother’s face relax and his eyes clear up for even that time gave her happiness.
After that, Gloria recognized that she was able to do magic when she wanted to. She tried to control it and though she had only little success, she used it as much as she could to cause havoc.
When she was eleven, her mother insisted on sending her to Beauxbatons though her father objected. Reluctantly, Gloria went to the school and found it exactly as she had pictured. She couldn’t take all the feminity in the school and hid in her dorms for a whole week. It took her a year almost to bear her dorm mates.
Even after that, she made only a few friends. The one thing that made her suffer through school was that the Healer there was well trained and taught her seriously. She was glad that at least one person took her flair for healing seriously. She graduated with top marks, trying hard for her mother’s sake.
She was immediately accepted into St Mungo’s and a famous hospital in France as an intern at the recommendation of Madame Dupres, the healer at her school. When having to choose between them, she chose St Mungo’s because it was closer to home and her family.
She climbed up the ladder at the hospital very soon, and was even accepted as a part time healer at the French hospital. Though Gloria knows her work consumes a lot of her life and leaves no room for other activities, she doesn’t mind. Healing is her passion and she wouldn’t give it up for anything.
Her life is neatly wrapped around the hospital, her patients and her family; just the way she likes it. She also uses her knowledge with the Dark Arts to help patients so affected and is considered a specialist in Dark spells. She is currently researching a cure for werewolves, though she knows it’s practically impossible.
