Other: -
Personality: Luke is an easy-going kind of guy. He loves dogs and his family and he's always very honest and forthright. He was Sorted in Gryffindor when at Hogwarts and definitely displays some of the more "stereotypical" Gryffindor characteristics - he's senselessly brave and will do anything to stop others getting hurt. He can also be very reckless, however, and isn't great at thinking before he acts.
He likes fast Muggle cars and also fast broomsticks, and has a bit of a reputation as a ladies-man (probably deserved). However, since starting to work at Hogwarts he's started to become more responsible and adult. He's surprisingly great with kids and knows how to put them at ease, and he has a sarcastic tongue and a quick wit that others are often envious of. He always knows how to defuse a situation.
He's naturally protective of those he feels are vulnerable, and will do anything he can to cheer them up. He tries to hide this natural inclination while teaching because he's of the opinion that the best way to teach kids about the world is to let them make their own mistakes. However, he often forgets this and ends up helping them whether he wants to or not.
He's also quite flirtatious and naturally is a womanizer, although he manages to keep this under wraps when teaching.
Likes: Dogs, teaching, relaxation, sports cars, Quidditch, black coffee, long evenings in front of the fire, chinese food.
Dislikes: not being able to help, boredom, rap music, cats, invisibility, cacti, being shut up indoors for too long.
Strengths: caring, outgoing, vivacious, easy to be around, witty, energetic.
Weaknesses/Flaws/Vices: tends to care too much, ends up hungover a lot of the time, can be oblivious to other people, gets attached easily.

Background: Luke comes from a comfortable middle-class family. His parents were both half-bloods, but his mother died when he was around nine and his father stuck it out until Luke's younger brother graduated from Hogwarts and found a place of his own before taking off somewhere. Luke hasn't been able to get in touch with him since, and rarely speaks to his siblings.
He likes to go out to clubs and often gets hammered out of his mind, and thinks that the less he can remember the next day the better. He has a good number of friends, most of whom are just as bad as he is, and they all like going out together.
He knew he wanted to be a teacher right from the word go - he's always liked the idea of being able to help kids prepare themselves for life. He gets a little disheartened when the odd one or two don't want his help, but he's generally cheerful and kids tend to like him. He's given up searching for his father now, and he thinks that seeing his father so distressed after his mother's death will make it difficult forming some long-lasting attachment of his own, for fear of the same thing happening to him.
However, in practice this isn't at all the case, and in fact he tends to get close to people very quickly, and has a sort of artlessness about him that makes other people get attached to him too.
