Personality: Cordelia is snarky, charismatic and flirty, and uses these as a cover for the more introverted person she is at heart. She’s pretty thick-skinned and hates to be told what to do, courtesy of her Hogwarts days. She loves anything French, especially clothes, and talks with a slight French accent. She is very distant from her mother – she was a complete daddy’s girl, and lost interest in her family after her father’s death. Her main hobby – besides reading – is men. She loves them in any way, shape or form, and doesn’t discriminate. At all.
She treats her books like they are her children, and is fiercely protective of them. Sometimes, just for the kicks, she’ll play tricks on people in the library – though nothing that will damage the books. She’s incredibly hypocritical; she hates following any rules, but likes others to follow hers.
She retains many of her habits, likes and dislikes from when she was at Hogwarts; and try as she might, she can’t completely overcome who she was, and remains incredibly similar to when she was seventeen, just a big less extreme.

Background:
As an only child, Cordelia spent most of her time alone and developed an interest in reading and gaining knowledge. She was a very solitary creature and consequently easily influenced.
A former Ravenclaw, Cordelia rebelled against the mould of the stereotypical nerdy Ravenclaw. As many of her friends were outcast Slytherins and Gryffindors, she became a dangerous mixture of sneakiness and recklessness, which led her to heavy drinking, sneaking out of the castle and getting tattoos. She also gained a reputation of being a slut, and was then shunned by her “friends” because she drew the teacher’s attention to them with her behaviour.
Three months after her seventeenth birthday, she was told that her father had died of cancer in hospital. She rushed to attend his funeral, only to find that her mother had shut herself off from any support, so Cordelia was forced to grieve alone.
Directly after leaving school, she fled to France, hoping to start anew, away from her “friends and bad memories. She spent 5 years there, immersing herself in books and knowledge again. She ran the library in the magical village of Beauvais. It was there that she ran into Neville and Hannah Longbottom (who were on their second honeymoon) and was told that the librarian at Hogwarts had recently retired.
Not wanting to leave France, she ignored the thought of applying for the position, and quickly became “involved” with a dark-haired man whose name she never actually found out. This succession of one-night stands ended with a pregnancy scare, and she never saw him again.
This was the push she needed to apply, so shortly after, she applied for the position at Hogwarts, and was hired. Cordelia moved back to England into a place above the Leaky Cauldron, although she moved out a year later. She remains close friends with Neville and Hannah, even after moving out.
She has good friends on the staff, and enjoys the company of her assistant Émi.
