Professor Marsdon,
Or am I allowed to call you Emily now? It would be a bit weird though, because I've always called you Professor.
Anyways, I'm back in London, from that program in Kenya which the Ministry sent me for. It was amazing! So many magical creatures which I've only read about! Do you remember that book you showed me once in sixth year, Five Hundred Creatures You Won't See in Europe? Well, I thought half of them were made up but I really did see some of them.
I can send you a copy of some of my notes if you like, because they're really extensive. I wish you'd been there. I wanted to owl you every time, but it was difficult since there weren't that man owls.
Best wishes, Bow Wood.

Dear Bow,
You can certainly call me Emily, though if it's too weird, don't feel you have to. I'd prefer it though, since you aren't a student any more.
That's great that your programme went so well! I'd love to see your notes - I've never been to Kenya, so it'll be new ground for me. I hope you took lots of photos as well as notes! Oh, and I can promise you that any creatures I taught you about are not made up - never doubt me again, young man!
So what's next then? Does the Ministry have more trips lined up for you, or are you going to be based in the UK for a bit? How would you feel about coming and giving some of my Fourth Years a talk on some of your experiences? They're going to be doing Exotic Creatures next term...
Thanks for the update though - it's good to know you don't all forget about us the moment you leave Hogwarts!
All the best,
Emily

Emily,
Well that doesn't sound so bad.
Enough photos that I needed a separate bag for it. No really, I had a different suitcase for all my work. I'm pretty sure I'll go back someday. Here, I've attached a couple of photos and introductory notes. Let me know if you'd like to see more. Although, it would be so much better if we were able to discuss all this in person.
Not anytime soon, since I just got back. Maybe I'll try and get a couple of months to Asia next year. But I actually don't mind being home for now. My family's missed my like crazy - I am a pretty awesome kid - so, I'll let them have their fun for a while. You want me to come talk to students? That's brilliant! I'll come, obviously. I'd love to terrorize teach them something cool.
Well, you did teach the subject I made a career out of. How could I not write back?
From, Bow

Bow,
Lots of photos is a good thing. I'm looking through your notes now, but it sounds like a fantastic trip! And great notes - well done! And hopefully you can tell me all about it in person when you come and do your talk...
Asia's fascinating as well - I spent quiet a bit of time there between school and starting teaching. But I suppose it is nice to get home for a bit in between. Just make the most of being able to travel when you do get the chance - not many people can do it as part of a full time job! And if you misbehave when you're talking to my students, I'll put you in front of your sister's class.
Well, I'm glad you did decide to make a career out of it. You've got a real talent at it, though if you quote me on that, I'll deny I said it.
Emily
