[rs=2] | when holly marie fitzgerald was born into the world as a perfectly healthy newborn, she came as a blessing to her parents who had been faced with the devastating news only two years beforehand that it was going to be near impossible for them to conceive again and add a third child to the mix. after receiving this tragic news, they all but gave up hope. so it certainly came as an unexpected yet wonderful shock when clarissa discovered that she pregnant nearly a year and a half later. she was even more over the moon when the doctor told her she would be expecting a girl - of course, clarissa would have been perfectly happy with either a boy or a girl but already having two sons, ages five and three, she was positively elated there would be a baby girl in the family, one that hopefully wouldn't come home near sundown with bruises all up her legs and caked in mud. clarissa's water broke a month earlier than expected when she was in the middle of doing the grocery shopping and she was rushed to hospital straight away, her husband practically speeding to get there and her two little boys in the backseat, arguing very loudly about what was wrong with mummy. after a strenuous 13 hour labour, clarissa finally found herself cradling her new, beautiful baby girl in her arms, husband by her side and her little boys gathered beside her bed sooner than later, stretching up on their tiptoes to try and get a peek at their new baby sister, holly. holly's childhood was a happy one, one that was filled with lots of joy and laughter... but also a lot of strange instances that didn't quite make sense until much later on. for example, there was that time when her parents found her sitting in the middle of the floor, surrounding by the broken pieces of her destructed crib after she had spent over an hour screaming for them to let her out... and there was also that time when grandma's blueberry pie spontaneously exploded all over her brothers who were refusing to even let holly have even a forkful of the desert - her brothers refusing to share was something that happened way too often for little holly's liking. like most girls when they're little, holly liked to play outside with her dollies and her play phones - though that was mainly to stay out of the house because hearing her mother scream her dad's name over and over again from their bedroom always annoyed her. later, she discovered exactly why her mother was always screaming at her dad so often and she was scarred for life because she was 10 years old and she knew enough to know what was going on when she went to investigate and walked in on them one day. when she later relayed to this information to her brothers, absolutely horrified, they ended up in hysterics for 10 minutes straight. she still recalls the moment she walked in on mum and dad doing it as the worst day of her life, even now as a 31 year old woman. when she was 11 years old, her family finally got the answer as to why all those strange happenstances always occurred when holly was around and, like every other sane person, they immediately thought that the ministry official that was absolutely, certifiably insane when she handed them holly's hogwarts acceptance letter and informed them very calmly that their only daughter was a witch. ian, holly's father, immediately demanded the strange woman get the hell off his doorstep as soon as the words left the woman's mouth but clarissa, always the patient one, put a hand on top of ian's and promptly told him to can it, to at least hear the woman out and invited her inside for a cup of tea. although it took well over two hours, by the time the ministry official left the house, holly and her family had been well and fully convinced this woman was telling the truth. and so, it was decided that come september, holly would be going to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. to start off with, the young blonde girl had been absolutely ecstatic that she would no longer have to be forced to attend the local all-girl's school - she never got along well with the neighbourhood girls in the first place due to the fact that she was quiet and blurted out bizarre things and preferred playing with that 'weird kid who transferred from paris a couple of years ago'. but as the date slowly began approaching, holly started freaking out. she didn't want to leave her family behind, she didn't want to not see her mum and dad and brothers every day. what would happen to her dog? what would happen to her friend jacques because she was the only one who played with him? she changed a lot from the nervy girl in first year and by her fifth, sixth and seventh year she had developed into a girl who was cheerful, flighty and funny and downright sweet. If she heard a piece of gossip, she would be the first one to share it excitedly. She became the ears and eyes of Hogwarts and if she heard something bad happening thanks to her mates, she’d be the first one to confront them, hands on hips, and demand if it was true. She kicked her fair share of people in the shins and elbowed quite a few people in the ribs as well. She was a charmer, one flash of her pearly whites and she usually got what she wanted. Of course, Holly wasn’t perfect. She was as stubborn as a mule, probably shared around a lot of untrue gossip, tended to jump to conclusions, and procrastinated a whole lot with her homework. She was known for going through boys, and even a couple of experimental girls, like socks. However, somehow she magnificently never garnered a bad reputation for that. She had a habit of breaking up with people at just the right point and she was never bad-mouthed too badly afterwards. She shared an on and off relationship with her best friend, Callan Urquhart, for years until they finished up with Hogwarts and they mutually decided it was never going to work because even though there had been definite attraction there, there had never been any spark to their relationship, mainly just companionship and comfort. She trusted him enough not to break her heart and deep down, she knew it was never really going to go anywhere. - her parents were very much in love to the point that she could hear their ‘love’ through the walls. Thus she spent her childhood days outside rather than inside where she could be scarred for life. - best friends with callan, used to have an on/off relationship that didn't have any spark to it. it was convenient. - single but doesn't mind. she loves having flighty romances that she can tell tales about forever. - gossip, made a career about it - as a complete stranger to the wizarding world, holly started Hogwarts as a rather easily-intimidated girl with a high-pitched voice and a nervy disposition - but as she started making friends, she began relaxing a little and opening up a little more. . - she owled her parents as often she could, detailing letters of magnificent sights that they’d have to see to believe - holly has matured a lot since Hogwarts. She’s gotten stable work and a level-head. She’s the first to get on somebody’s case if she has a problem with them. Even though she has no children, she acts like a mother to all of her mates and she’s quite the agony aunt. She’s still sweet, chirpy and a wee bit quirky at times. - best friends with callan, used to have an on/off relationship that didn't have any spark to it. it was convenient. - single but doesn't mind. she loves having flighty romances that she can tell tales about forever. - gossip, made a career about it this is the gorgeous holly marie fitz, callan's ex-girlfriend from hogwarts and basically one of his best, if not his best friend - aside from ellen, of course. callan and holly had a sort of on-off relationship in hogwarts, but there was never really any spark in their relationship - they loved spending time with each other and were sort of the 'it' couple but they realised, at the end of their hogwarts career, that ultimately they were just friends. after hogwarts, they even lived together (platonically) with another guy a few years older than them who was an amazing cook and who holly had a relationship with eventually, causing callan to move out after a while due to the fact that he felt queasy listening to them having sex in the next room. nowadays, callan and holly consider each other as sort of sibling material - if you bring up the fact they went out they get crazy embarassed and start elbowing each other. as for holly's personality, she's changed quite a lot since hogwarts; in first year, she was a very nervy young girl with a high-pitched voice; in fifth, sixth and seventh she was as popular as callan, cheerful and flightly and funny with a sweet disposition and a talent at hoarding gossip. throughout the years she's become callan's agony aunt, his advisor, his extra sister. she's chirpy as ever, still sweet and a wee bit quirky, but she's also matured loads more and has a very good head on her, and is actually quite a lot of her friends' agony aunt. throughout her life she's had a constant stream of relationships, but her current relationship status is up to you - married, single, dating, mother, single mother, whatever you fancy! tell us all about your character here. as much as you can. we prefer quality over quantity, but unless you describe your characters personality and style and history into 100 words and the admins manage to get a full grasp on him/her, we'll probably ask for quite a bit. actually, this must be 2000 words MINIMUM. and this scrolls as you write. cheerio! |
