Just writing to ask if everything's okay. Have you any idea what Kieran is doing or where he's working? He hasn't replied to my last letter.
Actually I'm writing to ask you if I can stay at school for the holidays. Being at home just gets so boring and many of my friends are staying back too. So.. please?

What a lovely surprise to hear from you. I can't believe the term's gone so quickly - it seems like no time that you were all departing on the Hogwarts Express. Kieran? No, dear, I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure what he's doing to be quite honest. I'm sure he's doing very well at whatever it is though.
Well, sweetie, I'm a little disappointed that you don't want to come home for Christmas. I have several parties I'm planning on taking you to, so I certainly hope it won't be boring. It would be a great shame if you weren't there though, so no, I'm afraid you can't stay at school. If you like, you can invite one of your friends to stay with you for part of the holidays though - providing it's someone suitable.

Yeah, it's gone by pretty quickly. Everyone is super terrified about OWLs.
Several parties. Sounds like fun. Okay, I'll see if I can convince anyone to come over. Most of my friends all already have their plans though. And don't worry, it's not like I would befriend someone 'unsuitable', at least as you define it.

Oh of course, it's OWL year for you, isn't it? Well, I'm sure you'll do wonderfully, darling, you were always so clever.
Well, that's what I thought - I'm glad you've changed your mind. We'll have a lovely Christmas, all of us together. And I know you wouldn't invite anyone unsuitable, unlike your older sister, but do let me know who you plan to invite before you ask them.
