The Lamont/Campbell Family
the story...
This here is Iseabail (pronounced Ishbel) Lamont, 23, Ministry Employee and ex-Slytherin. She's a sweet person in general, though somewhat over serious at times and a complete perfectionist. She's had a bit of a rough time over the years though; when she was little, her mentally unstable mother kidnapped her and her younger sister and went on the run for a year. The girls were almost given up for dead before they were found, undernourished and unkempt, and returned to their immensely relieved father.
For some years, they lived happily with him, his new (male) partner, jonathon campbell, and their baby brother. Then, when they were in their teens, their father suffered a heart attack and died, leaving them legal orphans, even though they considered their father's partner a parent. It took years, during which the girls lived in foster care, for him to win his battle for custody of them, by which time Iseabail was already seventeen.
These days, things are more settled. They are a bit of a make-piece family, patched together, but that makes them no less attached to each other - in fact, in many ways it makes them more so, because they've had to fight hard to get where they are today.
This is Isha's younger sister, aged 21 and an ex Gryffindor. Catriona has always been the more volatile of the sisters, as well as the most outgoing and bubbly. She wasn't much more than a toddler when their mother kidnapped them, and so her memories and understanding may be slightly different from Isha's. That year was a miserable one for both of them though, and they came to rely hugely on each other, something they still do. Although Catriona apparently bounced back faster than her sister, it's also possible that she was more deeply traumatised underneath. Catriona was always quite rebellious and badly behaved at times, and as a teenager, after their father's death, became almost unmanageable - the only ones who could really get through to her and make her toe the line were Isha and Jonathon. Catriona's now 21, but what she's doing with herself is more or less up to you. She's steadied out quite a bit though, and her teenage rebellions never came to anything too terrible. She's close with the rest of her family, especially Isha.

Isha and Catriona's baby brother, adopted when they were seven and five, and now aged sixteen. Finlay's characterisation is pretty much open, but the whole family is closeknit, and he's no exception. He and his sisters have a fairly normal sibling relationship, with plenty of teasing and arguments (the arguments are mostly between him and Catriona), but they are actually very close. He has/had a great relationship with both his fathers, and remains very close to Jonathon. What his feelings about being adopted are are up to you, but I think that his thoughts about his birth parents wouldn't go much further than a bit of curiosity, since his adopted family are his real one and he's very happy with them. One thing I will say about him is that he's straight, which is non-negotiable.

This is the final living family member (apart from Jonathon, who is a Muggle and so can't be played) - Iseabail and Catriona's absent mother. At the moment, she's not part of their lives - she was tried and found guilty of kidnap and neglect after the girls were found, but was found to be of unsound mind, and was send to a clinic rather than to prison. Since then, she has left the country. She tried once to contact Isha, but Isha didn't respond. This is a complex character - she has a lot of mental health issues, and a long history, so I won't be letting anyone take her unless I'm convinced they can pull that off - I'd rather do without her altogether.
