Faye,
I think you still have my warmest socks from when you borrowed them last week because you ran out of socks (Side note: how does one just happen to run out of socks? Simply mindboggling), and I’d like them back sometime in the near future, please and thank you, love you the most, etc. etc.
Ainsley
P.S. How do you deal with your overly difficult siblings? Don’t say you tell them to fuck off and that’s that, because I don’t know how to roll with that.

Ainsley,
I seem to have made a habit of taking everybody else's warm clothes. Hm. Anyways, I'm wearing them right now, so perhaps not the near future, but there is a (somewhat slim) chance that they will be returned by this weekend (because they have to be washed, obviously, nobody wants to wear somebody else's unwashed socks unless they're a moron). Do you think you can handle two days without them, or?
Faye
P.S. I pretend they don't exist.

Faye,
Yes, I can wait until the weekend. If I don't have them back by then, though, I will find you and have to be mildly threatening about it. I love those socks.
What have you been up to, lately, anyways? You seemed more disinterested in things than usual at dinner the other night.
Ainsley
P.S. That's easy for you to say and do because you're the youngest.

Ainsley,
Merry Christmas, you sock-loving bint. Got you some more fluffy socks and some chocolates. I'm currently locked in the bathroom sitting on the edge of the bath writing this and trying to get some peace and quiet because people seem to think that because it's Christmas we're all obliged to be wildly affectionate and hug each other and pat each other on the back and sing. Plus, Little Women is on the telly. It's not like I have anything against Christmas, but there's something weird about a holiday that involves sticking a tree up in your sitting room. We could've just not and said we did.
Sleeping, mostly. I suppose we'd better get together at some point during the holidays and you can tell me all about your Christmas. Are you at your house, or did you and your sister decide to spend the holidays in the Nott Hovel? (And by hovel, I mean mansion, I can't believe those pictures you showed me were real, we could probably fit my house in their courtyard.) And I get more disinterested in things around Christmas to inject a balance into the atmosphere because everyone else is going fucking insane.
Anyways, got to go. I said I'd cook Christmas dinner. Hope none of the family try and get in on the act. Cooking with other people makes me want to staple things to my head.
Faye
P.S. Please, I feel as though I'm about six years older than Sam. What's your sister even doing, anyways? Try and make your story mildly interesting, it's either your woes or Little Women.

Faye,
Thanks for the presents, they’re great. You’re such a ray of sunshine during my dark holidays. I’m not even being sarcastic. I got you a couple band t-shirts and some jelly beans - they’re in the package attached to this letter. I hope you’re not too bored with them. Couldn’t think of much else to get you at the moment, if I’m being honest. I hope you had a decent Christmas, even if you did have to sit in the bathroom to get your thoughts together. It’s usually like that around yours during the holidays, so nothing new really.
We definitely should get together - if I stay in this house for a few more days I might lose it, and I can see why you wouldn’t want a lunatic on your hands. I haven’t gone over to the Notts’ at all yet, though I’m sure Chloe and Seb wouldn’t mind. I just always feel like I’m intruding on them or being a bother. Raegan thinks I’m stupid for it and I guess she’s right sometimes - they’ve got so much more than us and they don’t mind. But still.
Fingers crossed that you haven’t killed anyone (for real) yet. I haven’t read enough about wizarding law to get you out of a perpetrated murder.
Ainsley
P.S. You’re not really, you just feel a million times more mature than everyone around you. It’s not the same thing. I don’t know how to explain it, and I’m ninety nine percent positive you won’t be interested in it anyways - she’s just being her usual stubborn self, making me feel like I’m always doing something wrong.

Ainsley,
The t-shirts are cool, Ainsley, thanks - feel sort of bad that I only gave you some socks, man, you should've given me warning that you'd be giving top-class presents this year. Christmas was sort of shit but sort of alright at the same time - I mean, you've met mum and dad, you know what they're like, they're not exactly the best ever, but I humoured them to a certain extent and I think they were pleased enough and I cooked the turkey to perfection, thanks very much. Even managed to stagger through half of a stupid Christmas movie with the family before making up some excuse about being tired.
Jesus, just stay at mine for a couple of days, alright? No questions asked, no dancing around the subject. If you go crazy I'll have to demote you from being my best friend and, let's face it, you're the only person I even really like. So just come over, sleep in my room, or Sam or Zanna's old room, I'll lend you clothes if you run out, mum and dad won't bother you much. And you would not be intruding on the Notts. You two could literally just floo over and hide in some random room in their fucking castle and they could potentially not find you for months.
Hurry up and read then, will you? And come over here. Just stay at the Stanley's. It'll probably only be me in the house anyway for the next while. Peace and quiet. Chuck Raegan into the Notts' house and come to mine. Sorted.
Faye
P.S. Am I not really six years older than my older brother Sam? Gosh, Ainsley, I would never have guessed! Surely you're not going to say other ludicrous things, such as Santa not existing. And Ainsley, you seriously need to chill about Raegan. She's fourteen. I've been taking care of myself since I was about seven, and I'd say you're the same. You're a good older sister. Seriously, I have a shit older sister and you are, like, the extreme opposite. You do what you can, and Raegan doesn't appreciate that. Her loss. Now chill out.

Faye,
That's okay, seriously. I was scared you were going to think that they were sub-par presents, but this is good. Yeah, your family's interesting - which is putting it mildly. Good for you, though, I'm glad you got some time in with them without completely losing it.
You flatter me. You'd find another best friend eventually or not. But alright, if you insist, I'll come over. It's not like dad cares what I do, which is why Raegan doesn't come home until odd hours of the fucking morning. Are you okay with tonight? I'll pack my stuff right now. Don't be mean, the Notts aren't that bad. They're quite nice to us.
I'll try my best. However, I can't keep any solid promises if you actually kill someone one day. Raegan's not even here at the moment. Lucky day. I'll be over in a bit.
Ainsley
P.S. Well, there's no need to get all uppity about it. I was just stating a fact. Whatever you say, but I really don't think I'm that great of one. Probably because I'm not into all the things that Raegan is. She'll never trust me properly. How am I supposed to chill out about it?
