The Leaky Cauldron was, as always, filled with chatters at this time of day. People stopped by after their work to have a drink or two, stay for a little while, before they went home. The sound of the front door being opened and closed was an addition to the crowded room. It was interesting to watch people come and go, but Archie Cooper was engrossed in the newspaper to do that.
He was reading an article on the Azkaban breakout, precisely about the speculation about how Lestrange could get out of the most guarded prison. The article also related it to the breakouts in 1996 and 1997 when Lestrange also escaped. Having been in the prison for years, it was possible to find the flaw in it, wasn't it? At least, that's what Archie thought, though of course he knew it was terribly hard to do that when your sanity was reducing every second you spent your life there. It must suck to be related to Lestrange, to have the spotlight on you.
He closed the newspaper as he finished, folding it neatly. Taking a drag of his cigarette, he looked at his cup of coffee which was empty. He ordered for another one, ignoring the fact that his heart started racing fast from all the caffeine he had drunk. As he waited, he took a look at the room for the first time, catching a sight of a young lady who just went into the pub. When their eyes met, he flashed his charming smile.

(ooc: struggling to pay rent! Haha I love that song.)
The cool breeze sent a violent shiver down Piper's back. It had been a long day at work and it actually proved to be exciting. She actually got to write a very interesting store on the break outs for once rather than write about some boring Ministry crap. However, with Azkaban being on an island in the North sea she wanted nothing to do with going on location to a prison surrounded by a body of water. Just the thought made her skin crawled as her mind went back to the scene. Since she almost drowned when she was a little girl, Piper has been terrified of water ever since. The feel of suffocation with no where to go but down... No. She wasn't going to dwell on that. It was over and done with.
She shook her head, her nose rosy from the cold. She had left work early that day, pleased with her article. Why shouldn't she just get a drink to celebrate? She was wrapped in her pea coat, her hands stuffed in the pockets as far as they could fit without ripping a hole in the material Merlin, she hated this weather. She looked up from the ground, her eyes squinting madly as the wind hit her full in the face. With a sigh of relief she realized she had finally reached her destination. The Leaky Cauldron. "Thank Merlin," she mumbled to herself, quickly pushing the door open and stepping inside.
Immediately the warmth hit her like a train. She let out a finally shiver, removing her hands from her pockets and loosening the scarf around her neck where a littler glitter shown. She could feel her nose thawing in the warmth of the place and she was longing to get some firewhiskey or coffee in her system. Anything warm would be good. Her eyes searched the room, weary of how crowded it really was. Only a few places at the bar and a table by the chilly door seemed to be open and she let out a sigh. There was no way in hell she would enter back outside at least for another hour. As her eyes searched desperately for a spot, she made eye contact with a very handsome guy who looked not too far in age from herself. And vaguely familiar. Like she had seen him around somewhere. She looked down with a smile the second he flashed the smile at her, moving her blonde hair over her right shoulder. Oh what the hell? She was having a good day as it was? What was wrong in some harmless flirting?
When she looked up, he was still smiling. So with a sigh, she made her way over. Suddenly, as she got closer she noticed the paper and her smile grew wider. "Reading a bit?" she asked casually, nodding her head to the Prophet with a huge smile on her face. "Mind if I join you?"

The smile almost turned into a smirk when the young lady looked down with a smile on her face. It was fun to see what effect he had on people whether it was positive or negative. He also believed that he was too hot to be denied rightaway and if that happened, he took it as a challenge to an extent. Archie didn't take his eyes off her until she looked up again, silently appreciating her appearance.
He took a last drag before he put off the cigarette when she approached him. Noticing a spark on her eyes and the smile when she asked if he read the newspaper, he guessed that it wasn't about the fact that she met a bloke who read something. "Yeah, did you happen to write one of these articles?" He asked rightaway, and chuckled a little before he continued in a smooth voice. "Not at all. I was actually wondering if I could buy you a drink, seeing the weather seemed to not be friendly today. May I?"
