Dear Grandmother,
How are you? How is Grandfather?
I've been talking with Scorp and he doesn't have any plans for Christmas. It would be alright if he went to the manor, wouldn't it? I don't want him to be alone on Christmas.
Also, if it's possible, would you please send me my light pink fashion scarf? I forgot to pack it and it's getting chilly! It should be hanging up in my room somewhere.
Love, Ella

Ella,
I am well, thank-you. I presume Lucius your grandfather is also well. How are you?
Darling, I'm not sure he'd want to come. I shall write to him this afternoon, and extend an invitation. You are quite right: family should not be alone at Christmas. Have you thought about what you might like as a Christmas present yet?
I've enclosed your scarf - I do hope it was the right one, please let me know if not, and I will try to find it for you.
Love, Grandmother.

Grandmother,
I'm also well, thank you! I'm actually quite busy with everything, but it's sort of nice to always be occupied. It keeps me out of trouble. I hate being bored.
Thank you very much. I've been trying to talk him into coming home, but he seems to think that no one wants him it would be better if he didn't. So hopefully he'll be a bit more encouraged to come home if you write him. Dad should, too. I really want him to come home....
I haven't given any to thought to what I might like for Christmas. There are a few things, but they'll never happen. I'll try to think of some things.
It's the right scarf, thank you so much!
Love, Ella

Dear Ella,
I am glad that you are not bored. As a child, my etiquette teacher drilled into me the teaching that 'only boring people are bored', I am afraid it is a saying that has remained with me ever since.
I have written to Scorpius, and he has replied saying that he thinks he will come round for Christmas day, which will be nice. I've also hinted that he might invite Teddy, he is your cousin and my nephew after all.
You're just as bad as Scorpius, he was equally vague. I must ask Damien as well, although he is rather more easier to buy for in many respects. Please do think!
I am glad. Seeing that scarf reminded me of one of my own, which I never wear. I've enclosed it, just in case you like it - if it's not currently fashionable do just send it back to me, I shan't be offended.
Love, Grandmother.

Grandmother,
You had an etiquette teacher? Wow, that's impressive. I suppose that's a profound teaching., but perhaps a bit snobbish?
Oh, that's wonderful! If he happens to mention anything about it, I may try to talk him into staying for another day or so. It would be nice to see Teddy, though I doubt he'll come by.
Well... this will probably seem foolish and maybe naive, but the only thing I really wanted for Christmas was for Scorpius to be there. And seeing as that's already happened, there isn't much else. Clothes, shoes and books are always a good choice, if you're completely stuck.
Oh no, not to worry - the scarf is lovely! It was very kind of you to send it to me. Thank you very much. I will definitely wear it.
Love, Ella
