this is sydney isabelle jacobs, commonly called syd. this little girl has known a lot of sadness in her life. she had a reasonably happy childhood - she drew on the walls, her brothers' books, simply everywhere; her parents were loving, she loved quidditch, and animals, and her little brother most of all. only a year younger than her, taylor was her very best friend in the entire world. until one summer day, her parents were at a ministry affair and matthew was taking care of them. he was tired and sick of their games so he lay down on the couch and started sleeping. sydney and taylor, not wanting to disturb their brother, snuck out to play by the pond. sydney had, after playing tag, been so exhausted that she lay down by the pond afterwards, while taylor peered at the fish. she didn't open her eyes until she heard her brother say that the fish looked prettier up high, and she saw him hanging over the pond - more of a small lake - on a branch. then, of course, he fell in. and syd didn't realise what was wrong until he thrashed and panicked. she screamed at him to swim for the bank - five metres from him - but neither were good swimmers, much preferring to fly. she saw him sinking in his panic and ran to get matthew, but by the time they got back, it was too late. since then, she's been plagued by nightmares of taylor drowning. she tries not to scream, and often wakes up in tears. bodies of water make her hysterical. she doesn't take baths, ever - showers only, and as few as she can wrangle. she wishes it was her who had died, instead. she has half a notebook full of sketches of her funeral and her drowning. she didn't speak to anyone for the two years in between taylor's death and her arrival at hogwarts. she loves her family, but she's never really forgiven them for it - matthew for sleeping, her parents for leaving them alone, and herself most of all, for not being able to stop it. she attends every quidditch game religiously as homage to her brother, though she refuses to fly anymore, as she learnt to fly with him and it's too painful. she's a very good listener, and while she's shy and somewhat secretive, she's always willing to help, if anyone would just ask. she's a firm believer in honesty and while she's a far cry from the giggling, laughing girl that scrambled up trees and made friends with everyone during her childhood, she still loves animals beyond measure and climbs trees a lot. she's very bad at school because of all the written work, but she loves comc and ancient runes because animals have always been there for her and she considers runes an art form. she's a sweetheart, and she tends to drop things when she's nervous.
friends -- uh. yeah, she has none. a budding friendship with tavish pucey, but she's just not outgoing anymore. she'd love some, though, and she's always there to listen. she's a caring girl, so if people took the time to talk to her, she could be quite a good friend. she just won't talk about her nightmares or water. or at least, she hasn't for the past six years.
enemies -- i actually can't imagine sydney with an enemy, but if you're set on it, maybe something could be worked out? she doesn't hate anyone, though. has no reason to, i guess.
lovers -- other than a massive crush - which is more childish-affection-turned-chivalrous-affection than a crush-crush - on francis lehane, nothing!

this is mark astor dashwood, commonly called marko. actually, always called marko, pretty much. dashwood is used to refer to him on occasion, sometimes by professors or other classmates, but it's generally just marko. marko's basically your average confused fifteen year old boy. he still believes in white knights and heroes and damsels-in-distress; probably because he's known a few damsels in distress, though not your average, helpless fairytale princess. he respects women completely and tends to dislike people who he thinks treat them disrespectfully. he's quite adamant when it comes to his friends - insulting them is a no-go zone. he even tries to keep lucy in line when she insults shelly - he's not successful, really, because that girl is a force of nature, but he keeps trying. he's there for his friends, always and forever. he will always try to have their back, and he doesn't automatically agree with someone - if they ask for his opinion, and he agrees to give it, he does his best to honour it. he's an honest person, and he doesn't say things he doesn't mean - well, unless he's joking, which happens a fair bit now that ella and lucy have infected him with the gift of sarcasm. he's absolutely awful at potions - honestly horrific - but he's always been good at care of magical creatures and muggle studies. he's not great with schoolwork, but he tries, and he's a good kid, honestly. he doesn't really have a goal in life right now, except to be the best person he could be. to be happy, and not at the expense of anybody else.
friends -- marko has a pretty good group of friends. they're nearly all female, however, and while he does love all of his friends, a few male ones wouldn't go amiss? but he's always there for a shoulder to cry on - he's a bit tall now, so possibly a chest to cry into - and he doesn't turn away friends.
enemies -- he severely dislikes bronson mc
lovers -- as young gemma caryn found out when she kissed him, marko is pretty much off the market. he's completely enamoured with miss ella malfoy, as he's told lucy and suspects anyone with eyes may be able to figure. then again, they have been best friends for ages, so maybe people don't notice. to the knowledge of people or not, however, she's the only one to occupy his mind, so he's off the market - sorry, ladies!

this is cassandra andromache lewis, commonly called cassie, cass or lewis but call her whatever. go fucking crazy. she doesn't care. as one of the infamous seventh year gryffindor girls, she's reasonably popular within her year (well, to the best of her knowledge, only one of her yearmates expressly dislikes her). unfortunately, she's also rather a handful. she's got a good heart and she's not a naturally spiteful person, but she is bubbly, loud, impulsive, sarcastic and has a quick temper. she is, surprisingly, a decent student - if ridiculously talkative and somewhat cheeky - and knows when to work hard. she basically gives everything she commits to her 100%, such as quidditch. she's loyal and she's damned protective of her friends. she is also somewhat abrasive, so yeah, people disliking her makes total sense, seeing as she can be quite rude at times. she doesn't like people that are cruel to her friends, so that's also a factor. oh, and she just broke up with james potter this summer.
friends -- well, she has a decent amount of these, so i'm not especially looking for new ones, but with an outgoing nature like hers, more friends never go amiss. she's exceedingly dramatic at times, and she's closest to her dormmates and their male counterparts, but she does have a few good friends littered through other houses, so that's not necessarily a deterrent. on average though - would be expected - she's less close to friends in other houses, though she's still quite loyal to them.
enemies -- ahaha, she doesn't have many of these, but they are always welcome too! generally, if enough of her friends dislike you - or you're cruel to them - she will dislike you intensely, but there are several exceptions to this, because the relationships in her year contradict this rule so much. but yeah, always welcome!
lovers -- she just broke up with james, who she had been dating for... a year and a quarter? whatever, a reasonably long time, seeing as it was her first real relationship. she'd been on dates before, but nothing particularly serious! but yeah, any past crushes or dates or first kiss or anything for now/future is welcome. i'm not too fussed about anything happening right now, hah, because she just got out of a relationship and even though it was a totally amicable split, she's not exactly jumping up and down in need for a new relationship.

this is nikolai jonathan hartley, commonly called nik. he laments over his parents' naming skills, wondering what he did to deserve such a name, but he's really just being melodramatic. music is his life, his soul, his reason for his being. he's actually basically blowing off his education this year because he figures he's going to be a musician so hogwarts doesn't matter. yeah, he's a bit naive in that sense, i guess? he needs a few friends/tutors etc to try and kick him up the backside into working. he'll probably listen to his favourite teachers, too, but it's really his adoptive brother travis that could fix that, so if anyone's interested in him, his wanted ad is here. he absolutely detests potions because he's absolutely awful at it, but he's a fan of dada, charms and comc. which means he's probably cheekiest in those classes - sorry, guys! and detention isn't a good deterrent for him, because as boring as it is, it's just a minor setback in his life plan. sigh.
friends -- nik's a pretty fun guy, and his sole lifetime aspiration (lol he's a sim) is to make people happy. he loves entertaining people, and he likes people and even though he's incredibly unobservant and thus doesn't really notice specific people, he's charismatic and charming and is a people-person. he's fun-loving and reasonably infectious. he's an accepting guy, not judgmental and he hasn't had much reason in his life to dislike anyone. he lives to make people laugh and stuff, so it's probably a good thing he doesn't take himself very seriously at all!
enemies -- well, he doesn't think he has any. it would not particularly faze him if he did, tbh. he'd find it downright hilarious, and would probably completely take the mick of any dislike people have for him, by perhaps challenging them to a swordfight in his silly way. not a real one, though. nikolai does not do physical activity. but yeah, he could totally have some! he might've hit on someone's girlfriend - or boyfriend, or sister etc - and then there's the fact that he's the world's best procrastinator and just doesn't do work and doesn't care too much about marks - he needs some whipping into shape! - and so his work partners might have gotten exasperated. he doesn't like letting people down so he does try when it comes to working with others but he just finds it so boring and useless. and then, he's just unobservant, and slightly tactless, so easily miffed people could probably dislike him a fair bit!
lovers -- well uh he is currently nursing the biggest crush for this amazing girl that he knows (and whose identity is only known by like, two characters?) so he's a bit off the market with that, m'afraid, but he will flirt with anything. like. even a toadstool could strike his fancy. it's not that he's overly attracted to any of them, he just doesn't take himself very seriously and he likes making people smile as well as being charming, and it sort of all compounds. he took a few girls out in third year, and he needs a first kiss and he's always available to be crushed on etc.

this is bella lorena viena, occasionally called bells by her closer friends. ex-slytherin, she was last year's hogwarts head girl as well as slytherin keeper. she's a sweetheart… if you dig deep. quite deep. she doesn't like letting people know that, because if there's one thing she knows, it's survival. she moved here from italy when she was about seven and quickly fell in love with london, especially the muggle music scene, much to the chagrin of her very pureblood family. in fact, her english mother banned her from that sort of illicit behaviour. in return, she refused to attend pureblood functions from the age of eleven on. she met ria and aug flint at hogwarts, and she currently lives with them in flint manor. after leaving home at the age of fifteen, she hasn't spoken to any family member except for her brother stefano, whom she loves, but is a womanising prick at the best of times. in fact, when asked about her family, she'd likely say that the flints were her family. she's an honest girl that doesn't swear - she doesn't see the point. her best friends swear, which is absolutely fine, but she does not. she considers is a weakness, saying certain words because they're more weighted than others, but she doesn't judge others for it. it would only be herself. she's snarky to the point of bitchiness, but she's not the bitchiest person to come out of that year by a fair amount. she's definitely cold in comparison to her best girl, ria, but given that ria's a rainbow personified, that's not hard. she's pretty good at coming to the defence of others, even people nobody would think that she would. she plays piano - her mother insisted she learned as a young girl - and she sings, because she always admired the muggle girls she saw performing when she worked in the muggle world for all of the summer preceding her sixth year. she's currently pulling a sort of nomad thing, doing odd jobs to raise cash to go travelling, as she refuses to accept charity from the flints - she doesn't accept charity, especially not when she knows she can achieve it on her own. she knows that odd jobs don't last awfully long, and is looking at a more stable position to raise money, but is reluctant to launch herself into an entirely new career, as she wants to travel the world first, and see all of the sights and explore cultures, both wizarding and muggle.
friends -- bella isn't a particularly nice person to people she does not know, so she's hardly a beacon for friends. if her kitten, mj, likes you though, she tends to trust the taste of the kitty. other than that, it's pretty much hit-or-miss with her.
enemies -- alysha zabini comes to mind, but that's not so much enemies as once-best-friends, turned into something akin to rivalry, that's basically been worsened by hurt and indignation felt by both parties. other than that, she doesn't have any real enemies, but she's not opposed to any! she's certainly got a personality that could garner some.
lovers -- her only real relationship to date was when she dated sebastian nott. she legitimately loved him, but she's moved on from that and can't believe how much she let him affect her. she used to hook up with kale a wee bit, but she's got a reasonably free past for that sort of thing, and she's free as a bird right now.

this is kieran nicholas bass, commonly called kier. sort of a tosser - but a gorgeous one! - with his own fiercely compassionate streak, kieran's not exactly too fussed about anything. he likes his job well enough, but he still bitches about it because, hey, it's work. he's sarcastic and utterly tactless in letters and basically has no social etiquette in his letters, much to the exasperatedly-loving mortification of his mother. he likes alcohol and he's protective of the girls he loves, and a complete prat to the boys he counts amongst his favourite people in the world. he's charming when he wants to be, a complete prick when he doesn't want to be charming. he can be sweet and loveable and even adorable but a lot of the time he's just really stubborn. he doesn't give a damn about blood status - what a bad little pureblood boy! naughty, naughty kieran - but despite his mother's efforts, he was raised as one of the pureblooded brood and attended the same functions as all of the other little purebloods, so he'll know all of the purebloods that are around his age, even if he doesn't necessarily get along with them. he's lazy, but, almost contradictingly, he's very curious and sometimes gets himself into situations because he doesn't know when to stop pushing. or rather, he knows, but often he doesn't care. he takes care of his friends, occasionally at the expense of another friend. he can be somewhat manipulative, and can be easily bored by people. he gets really concerned when his loved ones don't seem okay - he doesn't just dismiss a suspicion, he takes it out to the full. he tries not to blow things off that matter to people he cares about. his group of friends nearly all know each other.
friends -- he's got his closest mates pretty much sorted, i'd say, but to be honest, a friend of any of his tight mates, he'd probably be friends with, unless he thinks they're an arse. he obviously doesn't mind friends - though sometimes they're more bother than they're worth, especially now that they're out of hogwarts and seeing them requires effort - but he's not especially looking?
enemies -- he thinks kale lestrange is a dickhead, but he respects grace's decision about him because gracie is a big girl now? lol, idk, no enemy springs to mind but if you want some sort of relationship or plot to do with this with kieran, totally up for it! he doesn't mind having people dislike him. oh, he doesn't respect his aunt trixie at all and is basically a twat to her. xoxox
lovers -- his last relationship thing was this flirting thing he had with adreana marelli, so he's free as a bird! grace was his first crush, i believe, and i think rosa was his first kiss? other than that, he's basically got a free history to plot up with ex-relationships etc and he's totally free now, too!

this is brigid eilidh finnigan, commonly called bridge, finny, finnette and finnigirl. her family used to refer to her as eilidh as a pet-name but haven't done so recently. bridge was a common nickname of her childhood and early teenage years, and is still in use today. when her housemates found that calling her 'finnigan' would be too confusing - given the existence of her elder brother - they took to calling her finnigirl, as a play on her name and gender. in fact, during quidditch matches, the name would slip out during the commentary, much to the chagrin of the commentators. finnette and finny were also endowed upon her by the sporting crowd - finny being the easiest and most obvious nickname, and finnette because she was the eldest finnigan female. she still answers to all of them, as well as her actual name. being brigid, she's an avid sports fan - not just quidditch, but muggle football, due to the influence of her godfather, dean thomas, and his family. she's competitive and driven in quidditch, and beyond that, she's a reasonably down to earth girl. she doesn't do nonsense, thinks poorly of flattery - unless it's in jest or honestly merited - and couldn't be any more transparent about her disdain for groupies. she loves the fifth horseman, is very loyal and protective of her loved ones and isn't afraid to tell anybody off. some people consider her fearless, even though she doesn't consider herself that - just because she hasn't encountered anything that she's expressly scared of doesn't make her fearless, in her opinion. she hates birds, though. with a passion. especially ducks, but all birds could die and she could be happy. she tells it like it is, likes doing things for her friends, can hold her liquor reasonably for such a small person (5'2", 55 kg) and works harder than nearly anyone else she knows to prove herself in her chosen occupation. she hates losing, is argumentative at times and has absolutely no aversion to violence.
friends -- she's got a few of these but sadly, nobody her age! the travis mentioned in nikolai's post is in her year, and they have some sort of friendship, which i'd be keen to have, if anyone's interested in him! other than that, she's desperately looking for friends, especially kids that were in her year! she's a good and loyal friend, honest.
enemies -- well, the only person to date that she's ever truly hated was the cheating ex-girlfriend of her brother, tommy, who she actually gave a black eye to. enemies and rivals etc are always welcome, though! as i said, she's argumentative as well as fierce and abrasive, things that can compound into quite a negative memory if you're on the receiving end of her fury.
lovers -- lol this is sad. she doesn't have anything here, and hasn't for the entirety of her life out of hogwarts. there was a fellow teammate in gryffindor that she had a crush on and lost her virginity to drunkenly (without telling him that she liked him), so there's that, and she needs a first kiss and a few hogwarts dates would be nice, but nothing vital! as for current plots or anything, basically up for anything, though i sort of have something in mind right now, except the character needed doesn't exist, so that's on back pedal. ;]
