Dear Parents,
Hogwarts is a school of tradition - following old ones and setting new ones. As the Headmistress of this school, I am instating a new tradition - Parents Day. It is very important for parents/guardians to be actively involved in their children's schooling. I am inviting you to the castle to, not only see your witness before the Christmas holidays, but to also meet their professors, watch a Quidditch game, and enjoy two delicious feasts.
Parents Day will occur on Saturday, October 13th. It is compulsory, so if at least one parent/guardian does not show, you can expect to receive a letter from me. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with your children's education and you should want to show up to support them.
To the muggle parents: Hogwarts is usually hidden from muggles by magic, but with permission and aid from the Ministry of Magic, these said spells will be lifted so you may join us as well. Transportation will be available via the Hogwarts Express, located at Platform 9 3/4. Ministry employees will be at King's Cross to assist you. They will be wearing purple buttons with a large M, pinned to their clothes. Please note that the train to Scotland will be departing at 12am (midnight) of October 12th/13th. It takes several hours to get to the castle. Sleeping accommodations will be available.
To the wizard parents: siblings may come along, too. You may also take the Hogwarts Express, or you may Apparite/Floo/fly into Hogsmeade and walk up to the castle the day of.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. An itinerary of the day is attached.
Sincerely,
Headmistress Isabella O'Malley
