Hey! How are you doing? Hope 7th Year's treating you well! I feel like I haven't talked properly to you in ages - is everything okay?
Guess what? I got a job! I know, weird, right? It's really great though - I'm working at a restaurant, and being trained up as a chef, which is actually harder work than you'd think...
I kind of miss Hogwarts though. What's going on there? Any drama?
If you see Alex, could you, you know, just check she seems okay? I worry about her when I can't see her. I mean, I'm sure she's fine, it's Alex. But still.
Hope you're okay. We'll have to make sure we meet up at Christmas!
Love, Angus

Angus, hey! I'm fantastic, thank you. Seventh year is going very well, I can't complain. The schoolwork and homework is insane, though. Yeah, everything is okay. I'm so glad you wrote! Hogwarts really isn't the same without you.
Oh my gosh! You got a job?! That's brilliant! I don't doubt the work is difficult. I mean, from experience, cooking homemade meals isn't easy, so I couldn't imagine what it's like in an actual restaurant. Where are you working, by the way? I'll have to drop by in the next holidays.
There hasn't been any drama yet - that I know of, at least. Which is sort of surprising considering it's already three weeks into the school year. Oh, wait! Professor Merryweather isn't teaching here anymore. It's so odd. No one knows exactly why and of course the other professors aren't saying anything.... Other than that, you may want to owl Shay or Vera for gossip. I'm never up-to-date on that stuff....
Of course, I'll subtly check on her. But you're right - it's Alex.
I am. I hope you're doing well? Yes, we definitely have to meet up!
Love, Moira

Moira,
So sorry it's taken me forever to reply. I feel like the worst friend in the world. My only excuse is, life's been hectic, what with work and everything. Actually, I should just say 'what with work' because there's nothing else hectic in my life - it's just work. Which is going pretty well. I think the hardest part is how stressed everyone gets when the place is busy, always yelling rushing around. It's in London - it's actually a Muggle place because none of the Wizarding places really offered training schemes like this. I'm kind of dreaming of eventually getting a job in a top Wizarding place once I'm qualified, but I can't guarantee that. Would be great if you dropped by, though I might not have much time to chat...
Maybe Merryweather just moved on to another job? That's a bit weird though, that nobody knew he was leaving, or where he's gone. Shame - he was a good teacher too, at least I thought so. How are Shay and Vera and the others doing? There must be some drama by now, surely...
How about Alex? Does she seem fine?
Love, Angus

Angus,
It's okay, you don't have to be sorry. From the sounds of it, work has taken over your life. I'm so glad that it's going well for you. Ugh, that sounds like my mum on holidays. Do you get stressed out like them, or do you generally just roll with it? I can't imagine you getting stressed out so badly, though.
Aw. Well, you're getting the experience and that's what matters. I'm sure one of the top wizarding restaurants would love to have you work for them. I'll let you know when I'm in town and we can take it from there, okay?
Yeah, maybe. He was a great professor. I'm not sure anyone can follow in his steps. But we'll see. Vera and Shay are doing well. And I swear there hasn't been any drama yet. It's been a super quiet year. First news of drama, though, and you'll be the first to know.
Alex seems fine, yes. She's a maniac on the quidditch field.

Moira,
Yeah, it kind of feels like it has. I mean, that's a good thing in a way, because it's something I love doing. But I hope it calms down when I get used to it... Nobody tells you how exhausting it is being an adult with a job! Well, actually they do, all the time, but I guess I didn't believe them. I get pretty stressed to be honest... I try not to show it though.
Well, we'll see how well I do at the training. At the moment, I'm getting taught a lot about how to arrange small pieces of asparagus on a plate, and not that much about actual cooking. It's all part of the job though - presentation's not really my big thing, but it's important. Apparently. Hope you make it down some time then! You should try and come when I have some time off too, and we can grab coffee or something.
Is there a new Charms Professor then? Wow... I don't know, I leave and everything interesting stops happening... Was it all just my year or something? I'll hold you to that though!
Tell me something I don't know - Alex is always a maniac on the Quidditch field. A brilliant one though.
Love Angus

Angus,
I'm sure it will calm down when you get used to it. Things always seem overwhelming until you get the hang of them. Ha, our parents were right all of these years! Go figure.
Presentation is important. Have you ever had someone just plop food onto your plate? (And I don't mean at home or some cheap restaurant.) It doesn't look pretty. People like pretty things. I'll make it a priority to go see you. And I'll definitely drop by when you're free. Coffee sounds good.
We have temporary professors for now. I don't understand why they just don't hire one. It must have been your year. We could never compare.
Do you want me to pass a message along to her?
Love, Moira
