Seventeen. Gryffindor. Tyler Posey. | |
. . . and that ladies and gentleman is as far as my Spanish goes. To rephrase in English, however, what i said was as follows: Ladies and Gentleman, may I present to you Jose Luis Rodriguez, born March 5th, 2005 to pureblood couple Jorge and Theresa Rodríguez (nee González). The second child and first son of the couple. Jose was first and foremost a bright giggling ball of joy, whom seemed to be doted on by all. Including his older sister, Rosa. It took a lot to make the little Josito - as his Mami had dawned him, to cry. He constantly smiled, laughed, and played, which in his early years earned him the characterisation of being carefree, and easy going. From an early age, Jose - or Jojo, as his sister Rosa (and the only person allowed to call him such name) - calls him, adored following behind his sister. Rosa was everything little Jose wanted to be. She was brave, reckless, abrasive, brash - and always knew what she wanted. Jose couldn't help but to admire her tenacity, even as a young child. There's one incident in particular where he remembers really coming to admire his big sister. When Jojo was six and in primary school, he had a bit of a speech problem; he stuttered, and a few of the other kids had taunted him for it. Not understanding why he was being teased, Jojo told the then eight year old Rosa that there were kids picking on him. Rosa rushed into the rescue - which didn't exactly make some of the kids fear him - her temper flaring and everything but english coming out of her mouth. She informed the bullies that if they continued to taunt her hermano she would hang them by their toes from the monkey bars. The kids left him alone from then on and Jojo rejoiced in the fact that he could count on his sister to be there for him. From that day on he vowed to do the exact same for her - for both of his sisters really - even though he isn't as close to Flick, whom is two years younger than him, as he is Rosa. Growing up the only boy and shelved between two sisters, Jojo often found himself stuck between Rosa's experiments, and Flick's demands of a playmate. He never rejected to being used to further his sisters' own some times questionable motives - whether they were really attempting to bond with him or just trying to embarrass him, but instead took it all in stride. He saw himself as lucky to have two people who loved him so. Because of this Jose is very family oriented. He has a strong relationship with both his sisters, and his parents - though it has frayed a bit over the years due to growing pains. He knows that they can count on them, and hopes in turn that they know they can count on him. From the time he was born, up until Rosa went off to Hogwarts, Jojo was just about attached at the hip to his sister. He loved to go on adventuras, and adored spending time with her, which is why when Rosa left, poor Josito missed his sister dearly. He didn't know what to do with himself. Yes he had Flick, but at the same time Rosa had always been the one he looked to for advice, for wisdom. The next two years he spent relatively bored, he attended primary school where he was working with a tutor on fixing his stuttering issue. Because of his stuttering issue, Jose wasn't as outgoing as he could have been, though he was still very bright. His marks were always top of the class, it was just the speaking part - the talking outloud to any one other than his family - that really scared him. Although Rosa had stuck up for him the kids who had picked on him had left a bit of a lasting impression on the young kid who feared being made fun of once more. Diligently his tutor worked with him, however, and his stuttering slowed, though never fully disappearing. It's only when Jojo becomes super flustered and completely frazzled that he stutters now. At eleven Jojo received his Hogwarts letter and off he went - having showed his first signs of magic at about six - he exploded a wash basin after loosing a newly purchased toy owl to it. He'd been trying to climb into the wash tub - he thought he was going swimming - only to hoist his owl up first, into the water, and to have the washing potion burn a whole straight through his owl. Anger flooded through the six year old's body and the washing basin sprang from it's spot in the back yard and went sailing. His Papi caught it just in time before the liquid - and basin - sailed down on Jojo. Sorted into Gryffindor house, Jojo was giddy with delight to be in the same house as his older sister. His delight was a bit short lived, however, as Rosa had found new friends, an didn't really want an eleven year old hanging around her. Distraught, Jose went off and found his own friends, hurt - though - by Rosa. He soon got over his hurt, however, and soon found himself becoming a bit of a social butterfly. The close knit communities that became his house and year brought Jojo out of his shell, and stuttering be damned, he began to talk - about anything and everything, really. The next three years went off relatively normal. Jojo gained a bit of popularity, and grew more confident in himself, even stretching out his flirty side a bit. He'd been watching Rosa flirt for years, after all. He also generally found himself curious to know what it'd be like to kiss a boy. He'd always been taught that girls kiss boys and vice versa, but part of him wanted to know what it was like to kiss a boy, too. He never let anyone know this fact, however, and at the end of his fourth year, when he'd considered telling Rosa, she dropped a bomb of her own on him. Jojo's not stupid, he'd been watching Rosa - and the guys - and some times girls - that she ran about with. He never said anything because - although they weren't as close as they were before she left for hogwarts - he still wanted to protect his sister, as she had him. But back to the news. Rosa was pregnant - and she had no idea who the father was. Only fifteen at the time, Jojo really had no idea what to do, he knew whatever he did, however - had to benefit Rosa in the end. So, shelving his own news and curosity, Jojo packed Rosa's things and got special permission from the headmistress to ride into muggle london and sit with Rosa as she got an abortion. It hurt him severely to watch his sister suffer, but knew that it was what she wanted - all he could do was support her. Eventually their family found out and Theresa and Jorge were none to happy with their children. Being a heavily catholic family, the Rodriguezes frowned upon Rosa's choice and ostricised her for it - which caused Jojo to nearly bust a blood vessel. For years he'd protected both his sisters, loving and caring for them, and watching as his parents loved and took care of them all, but just like that they'd thrown their daughter to the wolves. The anger in him boiled over and Jojo's stuttering returned as he had out a nasty row with his parents. Words were exchanged both in english and spanish and the rodriguez family as a whole seemed to fragment. Eventually their relatonship started to heal, but some cracks still remain. During his fifth year things began to get really confusing for the fifteen year old - he'd indeed been attracted to girls, but at the same time found himself eyeing guys with a curiousness. At a party that year he got rather toasted and though he can't quite remember every detail, he does know that he made out with a guy, and though he can't remember all the details, he didn't really find that the experienced moved him, per say. It was a nice snog, but other than that, it meant nothing. He told Rosa about it, and she told him that he'd support her in whatever he chose - even if their parents didn't support him, because he'd done the same for her - and Jojo thanked her. From then on, however, he found himself more attracted to girls - a cute blonde in his house and year catching his eye quite often, though she was attached to another. Sixth year flew by pretty fast for Jose - he continued to be sociable, an accelerate in his lessons - his favorite lesson being Care of Magical Creatures, which he received an O in on his OWLS - one of many O's too; he passed every subject with either an E or an O except for Herbology, which he got an A in. Not much aside from that happened for the Rodriguez. He flirted with a few girls after accepting for certain that he was indeed a straight man. He'd been bicurious fora while, but now identifies himself as straight. During his sixth year he also helped his sister Rosa once more, this time through the break up of her engagement. She'd been engaged to Bowman Wood, whom although he could see that his sister did truly love him, José did not like. Bowman didn't treat his sister the way he felt Rosa deserved to be treated - the way both of his sisters deserved to be treated; like gold - and he was glad to see them part ways. He wasn't too enthused, however, when Rosa returned to her wild ways. . . he knows she can take care of herself, but he's always looking at her with the eyes of a fourteen year old boy, sitting by and holding her hand as she aborts her baby. It's now the start of his seventh year and José is clamoring to get the year started. He's not quite certain what's to happen after he graduates, but right now he wants to make this the time of his life. |
