It has come to our attention that some of the minor HP canon characters have been in use twice, therefore resulting in two families. So, we need everyone to please claim their canon parents. It's mainly the mothers were concerned about (since most women change their surnames after being married.)
What happens if a canon parent is being used twice? Well... here's what will happen. (Please note, the following names are made up and are not HP canons - i think. xP ) Ella creates a student called Bobby Olsen, who's mother is Samantha Olsen (nee Redding) and who's father is George Redding. He's accepted and she goes about her business roleplaying him. Then Tatoe creates a character called Zachary Martin, who's mother is Samantha Martin (nee Redding) and who's father is Robert Martin. Well, since Bobby was created first, Ella would have the right to keep her family information the same, but Tatoe would be asked to change hers. If, of course, Ella offers to change her family information, then Tatoe is more than welcome to keep hers the same.
Please post (using the code below) who your character's canon parents are. You MUST provide the mother's maiden name ONLY. Also, please take a look at the canon list to make sure we haven't snagged any of your characters' parents! If your character was made after the canon list was posted, we will not change our list. I know this might be an annoyance for some of you, as your character has been accepted and may even have family members roaming about already. While, yes, the fault is partly on the admins, we would like to remind everyone that we're not perfect and it's unrealistic for us to remember the parents of every character on the site.
In addition, we ask that even if your character has only ONE canon parent, you claim both parents so people know your father or mother is a canon character.
