However, despite his skittish nature, he's a lot more relaxed and open around people he knows well such as his mum and his friends. Though it's fairly easy to gauge a smile out of him if you're a stranger, chances are that this one will be more genuine. He has hesitations about making true friends because he's always afraid he's going to be let down or something like that but once you do make friends with him, you'll discover another side. He's always got this playful kind of grin on his face and he'll be a bit more sarcastic and loving towards you.

Not many people know about his sexuality - not because he's ashamed or anything but rather because nobody's really asked him. It was never a huge deal with him coming out... he told his mother and she said that he was still her son and as long as he still loved her then it was fine. It was just over and done with, just like that. Same goes with his friends. Alistair's never really had a boyfriend, though he has been set up on a couple of abysmal dates due to his mother's meddling. He attempted sex once, with a guy he'd met at a nightclub when he was twenty, but it didn't go to well and he hasn't tried with anyone else since.

During his childhood and, later, his time at Hogwarts, Alistair often holed himself up his room and dormitory to read instead of actually going out and trying to be social. He's gained a lot of knowledge from reading and he's incredibly intelligent by nature, and not to mention book-smart. He's not too intelligent people-wise as a result though. He's never quite sure what to say around them. That's why he works in a book shop - mostly because he knows books better than people and it's not too hard to fumble around with that job.

He's extremely trustworthy and loyal if you choose to tell him anything. He will literally take your secret to the grave because he's seen his mother upset so many times after having any of her secrets exposed by the paparazzi and he doesn't want to make anybody feel that way, ever. He tends to keep most of his secrets to himself because when he was a kid in a Muggle primary school, he shared a secret with one of the people he considered his friend who spread it around the school which he saw as a total act of betrayal. He never spoke to the person again and he's quite adept at holding grudges, something his mother can vouch for.[/ul]
