Ugh, life is complicated.
Not my life, thank Merlin. That's running on as usual - I help Professor Longbottom in the greenhouses, and stay up far too late working on my Astronomy homework, and chat to Rose and Chloe through all my other lessons.
No, it's other people's lives that are complicated. Or, to put it another way, Lorcan's. He's got himself a girlfriend (4th Year, my house), and she seems perfectly nice - I talked to her. But unfortunately, Lysander's decided to dislike her intensely. I know, you wouldn't have had Lysander down as the type to be jealous of his brother's relationships. His main objection seems to be that she isn't Lucy Weasley, which is just ridiculous. Lorcan and Lucy have never been more than friends, even if they could have developed into something more. I know Lysander always assumed they would, but that's Lorcan's decision, not his, isn't it? I don't even know Lucy, but apparently she actually liked Lorcan, which makes everythng a bit shitty - but it's still Lorcan's decision who he wants to go out with! And none of it's Danni's fault. Lucy taking it out on her is understandable, but Lysander needs to grow up a bit.
Anyway, now I feel sort of caught in the middle. Because Ly and Lorcan are two of my best friends, and Rose and Dom are another two and they're Lucy's cousins. But I actually really like Danni too.
You see? Complicated.
In other news:
Aidan was all upset the other week because his birthday came and went with no word from Dad. Great, well done Dad. Forget your youngest child's twelfth birthday. I told Aidan it was probably just because he didn't know how to get letters to Hogwarts, being a Muggle. That would also explain why, in four and a half years, I've never had a letter from him here. Unfortunately, I don't think it's true.
Apparently, Cassie helped Sebastian Nott turn the giant squid multi-coloured, and was actually flirting with him. Flirting with Nott, that is, not the squid, although I know which one I'd rather. Must talk to Cass about this disturbing issue asap. Preferably before Chloe hears about it.
And finally, I've lost my shoes. I'm pretty sure Lysander has something to do with it. Prat.
