LIKES:
DISLIKES:
STRENGTHS:
She's not easy at all - when she was a bit younger, around thirteen or so, she was with quite a few people - not going too far, of course, simply snogging - but since then she has decided that silly affairs of the heart are for, quite frankly, silly girls, and she's made herself utterly unattainable. She'll be perfectly charming to anyone, but she won't do anything with any boy who doesn't go out of his way to treat her like a princess because she has standards that cannot be lowered.
Eden's perfectly truthful, mainly because she simply isn't sly enough to keep secrets. It's not that she's not smart, she just can't keep her mouth zipped, and she's just about the last person you should spill your secrets to, but she's honest without being mean - if you ask her what she thinks of something you're wearing and she thinks it's awful, she'll very gently make sure that you know it's not exactly flattering and wouldn't dream of hurting someone's feelings.
She's also incredibly generous - her clothes are always on loan to other people and half the time she forgets about the articles of clothing she's let people borrow and ends up being completely surprised when people hand her back clothes she can't even remember giving them. She's the sort of lass that would give her last dime to someone - unless, of course, a pair of designer sunglasses were on sale - and she's amiable to almost everyone.
Eden's a brilliant Quidditch player - she's been playing since she was young and she positively breezed onto the Hufflepuff Quidditch team when she decided to audtion in third year, she's that good. Most people think she should go professional once she leaves Hogwarts but she doesn't really care that much about Quidditch in the long run - it's just something to do.
She's amazing at pulling sickies. Nobody can pull a sickie like Eden. She doesn't do the boring ooh-I-need-to-go-to-the-hospital-wing type of sickie. She swoons about and pretends to faint and creates all sorts of interesting and slightly unbelievable sicknesses. [/ul]
WEAKNESSES:
HABITS/QUIRKS:
Out of habit she's a very chatty, sociable person and often simply butts headfirst into conversations without even considering the fact that someone else may not want to talk to her. She's very good at being oblivious if other people don't like her.
It takes a lot to get her to have a grudge against you, but once she has one, it's there and she'll stick to it for forever and a day. She'll pointedly ignore you and huff in your presence and refuse to acknowledge your existence if you try to strike up a conversation with her. Most people she holds grudges against aren't even aware of her grudge, either, because it's generally about quite a small matter.
Her boredom-busting habits are legendary. Eden hates boredom and does anything to relieve it - she'll start attempting to construct a dragon out of paperclips and her high heels or she'll stick loads of rotting fruit in a blender or she'll draw all over other people's trainers or she'll go on a shopping craze and buy something ridiculous like wedding dress and lounge about in it eating chocolate. WISHES/GOALS:
FEARS:
BOGGART:
MIRROR OF ERISED:
DEMENTOR:
PATRONUS:
VERITASERUM:
She hated being sorted into Hufflepuff at first. She realised afterwards that no-one in her family really expected her to be sorted into anywhere else but her parents didn't have a particularly high opinion of Hufflepuff and neither did she and it felt like a confirmation that she wasn't remarkable in any other way. She doesn't think about it so much nowadays but if she does dwell on it it can lead to a few injured sniffs.[/ul]
AMORTENTIA:
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
However, most people take to her because she's very chatty and sociable and has these weird little quirks she's not even ashamed of and is genuinely quite sweet. She's not dependable at all and loves things to be glamorous and often does things on a whim and refuses to back down. She'll outright refuse to listen to anyone else once she's absolutely set her mind to something but she won't be snarky or mean about it at all - she'll just be like "no. This is what I want to do." And that she will.
Eden's a genuinely nice girl, however - she'd never deliberately cause anyone harm and she's a fabulous social butterfly, breezing from one group to another and getting along with almost everyone. She's amiable and warm and despite being posh to the point of being almost-snobby, she's not haughty in the slightest and won't deliberately look down on people. She's almost always in good humour and generally butts headfirst into conversations or groups and will rarely notice if someone doesn't like her. Eden's also very into materialistic things - she loves clothes and shopping and make-up and quite frankly delights in all of these things. Even though her family aren't ridiculously rich, they're well off and she uses almost every penny she hoardes to spend on clothes. She has absolutely no thoughts about consequences or anything of the sort when she's shopping - or, indeed, eating - she has a terrible sweet-tooth and claims to be allergic to healthy foods.
Eden, although flighty and bubbly and materialistic, is also bright and she works hard for her grades. She hates studying and, as everyone else does, she slacks off every now and then, but she gets cracking when she has to and scores well, at first to everyone's surprise. She also has a good head screwed on her shoulders and can be surprisingly down-to-earth when the situation calls for it. There's also a determined streak buried deep inside of her; when she really wants something, she has to have it or else she'll be miserable for days on end. She also tends to want life to play out like a movie and becomes easily bored with the day-to-day going-ons and the Hogwarts boys whom she deems all perfectly inadequate - she'll talk to them, and be lovely, but to be honest she wouldn't give half of them the time of day. She does have a bit of a thing for bad boys she desperately tries to clamp down, though.
Eden is determined to be elegant and classy and while she's fanciful in her own way she won't let herself do something as silly as crush on or fall in love with one of the Hogwarts boys - it's almost as though she's caught between doing what she wants and retaining an image of being posh and well-dressed and classy and perfectly able to bring any man to their knees yet not made wobbly-kneed in the slightest by any man - she can't quite achieve it yet, but she's getting there. She's also a lass with high standards; she seems really girly and giggly and delicate but she's got a very strong personality and rarely, if ever, wavers if she's decided something. She's very set in her ways and she's too wrapped up in her own life to notice if other people disapprove. She's also had a lot of boys falling for her, but she brushes them off because you simply can't be swept off your feet at the first good-looking fella who pays you a compliment in Eden's opinion. OVERALL HISTORY:
Eden was brought up to be a very girly girl, and she remained that way for years on end - although she was forever chatting and breezing about and whoring around for attention she generally looked quite pristine and adorable and pretty in teensy dungarees or brightly coloured skirts. When her sister was born when she was five, Eden was decidedly more gracious in accepting this new addition to the family and lorded happily over both of her younger siblings. While she and her brother often fought - once her brother tore out a chunk of Eden's hair and Eden retaliated by scratching his face savagely - Eden was a brilliant sister to her younger sister. Seeing as their parents worked all day, they were supervised by their nanny for years and every now and then the nanny would attempt to get them to learn something, but Eden would immediately fake illness or try and coax her nanny into letting them play.
Eden adored her father, and was never afraid of him, even though he seemed to most quite an intimidating man - a bit like a grumpy bear. She begged him to buy her a broomstick when she was seven and it took a while but she finally managed to wear him down and he bought her one, expecting her to give it up quickly when she realised it took work to excel at Quidditch. Eden was determined to be a good Quidditch player, however, and it was an odd sight to see Eden, who often danced around the house in the frilliest frocks possible, sailing around on a broomstick. She looked thoroughly out of place, and yet it became obvious she had a talent. Her father swelled with pride - he'd been a Quidditch player - and they often played Quidditch together.
Eden loves her mum, too, but in a completely different way. She often gently nags her father about remaining healthy and not being grumpy but she's rarely allowed to act cute around her mother - her mum has always expected her to act adult and hold adult conversations and while Eden can't exactly live up to those expectations she is a lot more reserved when talking to her mother although she remains, as always, bright and enthusiastic. Her mother is a wee bit tetchy about Eden playing Quidditch but lets it slide and the biggest fights Eden and her mum have - not that they have many - is over her diet, as Eden's mum is convinced Eden is going to blow up like a balloon. Eden generally treats her parents with a half-exasperated, half-amused air and often breezes around the house chatting about things of no importance and bringing up vaguely silly topics. Her parents, who were both Slytherins and decidedly extremely different from Eden, are loved fiercely by Eden and while one would think that two people such as Adrian and Flora could never produce a child like Eden, they mesh well together as Eden provides a certain amount of charm and colour and light.
When Eden got the Hogwarts letter, she was applying nail varnish and promptly spilled it all over her frock when she tore it open but for once she didn't quite care. She brandished the letter around the house for days on end, unbelievably proud of going to Hogwarts, and convinced her parents to buy her a ton of new outfits for the new part of her life. The journey to Hogwarts was daunting, but Eden was no pussy and she donned a gorgeous purple hat and let it lie askew over her messy hair and straightened her perfectly tailored uniform and marched in with her head held high, reminding herself that you always had to keep your heels, your standards and your head held high and everything else would click into place.
Eden, although being a somewhat polished little madam, managed to make quite a lot of friends and although she has a few very good ones she's quite the social butterfly because she's an extrovert to the core. Initially, she was extremely upset at being a hufflepuff - oh god, it could've been anywhere but hufflepuff - as both her parents had been Slytherin and she thought Slytherin would suit her image much better - but she wears the yellow and black with pride these days, and tries to remind herself that badgers are best. She's always had quite a bit of boy-attention because she started developing really quickly when she was young - she had curves and boobs and hips and she was tall and she thought it was awful. The boy attention goes mainly ignored, however, because in her humble opinion food and clothes and money and diamonds are all far better than boys. She'll be perfectly sweet to any boy but if you haven't got class and money in your bank account, you're not getting her attention.
In her third year, Eden decided to give being on the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team a go. She was sunbathing in the grounds, spotted the tryouts, grabbed her broom on a whim and sailed over to give it a shot. Most people smirked at the thought of her flying - the girly, animal-hating Eden Pucey was not a likely candidate for the Quidditch Team. Her tryout, however, was brilliant and she's quite possibly one of the best Quidditch Players Hogwarts has seen. She was quite proud of herself, especially when everyone's jaw dropped and she proved everyone wrong. However, she's never been particularly emotionally invested in Quidditch and she's always on the cusp of being kicked off the team because she's late to practices or she talks all through practice and mostly she turns up barely five minutes before a match.
Eden's a bright girl and gets pretty good grades - generally Es - and she deserves them because she works for them, and her professors seem to like her well enough because she's always fairly good in class, even though now and again she provides some entertainment to spice everything up or provides a witty quip. Any sort of contact with animals, however, results in constant squeals and shrieks of "ewww!". While she loves being in social situations and parties, she gets her snob on when people get completely pissed. She thinks it's sort of pathetic - when she drinks, she only drinks a small amount and she's simply unimpressed by the way people freak out over having firewhiskey - it's never been a big deal to her and her parents have always been very upfront about alochol so she's never felt the push to drink that much of the stuff, just a glass here or there.
