OVERALL APPEARANCE:[/b] For most of her life, Ella grew like a normal girl would. She'd always been thin, as everyone else in her family (on both sides) for centuries had been. She started suffering from EDNOS when she was eleven, before she entered Hogwarts. As time progressed, Ella eventually became bulimic and anorexia followed shortly after. This continued until she was 13, making her very thin and fragile-looking. Since then (and after going to a treatment centre), Ella is beginning to look like a fourteen-year-old again. She's still thin and bony, but she doesn't look sick. Her ears are pierced.

Being the youngest Malfoy child, Ella was often treated like most 'baby' siblings are. She was spolit (a little more than her brothers), but she was also treated very delicately by her mother. She wasn't allowed to play roughly with her brothers; in fact, she wasn't allowed to do much of anything that the boys did. Ella grew up primarily by her mother's side, overprotected and sheltered. She attended teas and wore dresses.
When Ella was younger, her family often did things together. They were much more connected and involved with one another. However, as the children began to age, Draco in particular started backing off. His personality seemed to changed; he started pushing Scorpius to be better, ignored Damien and gave Ella more gifts. Ella noted this change, even at a young age, but she didn't think much of it. She was just pleased when her father brought home a new toy for her. Around this time, Ella became a bit bratty. If she didn't get her way, she'd act out or sit quietly in her seat with a scowl on her face. But Astoria was always quick to reprimand and this behavior didn't go on for too terribly long.
Spending so much time with her mother from an early age, Ella developed some of her mother's quirks. (Which she has yet to realize.) She's a perfectionist to a fault and also has OCD. Nothing is perfect unless it's set just the way Ella wants or whatever issue is fixed. Even then, Ella feels as if it isn't good enough. Both of these are what lead to the girl's first bout of eating disorders - EDNOS. Around age nine, Ella started being picky about the foods she ate. Certain foods 'tasted funny' or were 'too sweet' or 'too salty'. Eventually, due to the disconnected family life, Ella started making herself throw up. In addition, she started exercising like mad. She ran ridiculous amounts of miles, though she was really had no excess fat to lose. As the Malfoy's continued down their path of disunity, Ella's condition worsened. She started to starve herself and when she did eat, she forced it out.
All of these actions were not because Ella thought she was fat. She felt as if the only thing she could control in her life was her body. She needed that control to keep herself grounded, to keep the world from spinning to fast.
Despite her faults, it is possible for Ella to be a good and kind person. She's able (if she chooses) to look past others own faults and really see them for what they are. She's a good friend who'll defend any one of her friends if the situation warrants it. However, Ella also has an ugly side. She holds grudges and often doesn't let them go. Because of the family she came from, she can also believe that she's better than others. She is capable of being very jealous of others, especially if they have a better family life than she does. Though she's very bright when it comes to studies, Ella is a bit naive. She usually lives in a dreamworld, where everything is okay and goes smoothly. Because of this, she implodes her feelings. She won't tell someone how she honestly feels. Lately, though, she's gotten better at expressing herself - especially with her father (when they write to each other.)

MOTHER:[/b] Astoria Malfoy (nee Greengrass), 40, pureblood, ex-Slytherin, lady of the manor. As a young girl, Ella had a great relationship with her mother. But she started to pull away and become her own person, which her mother didn't take too well. Ella will always loves her mother, but she's afraid her mother hates her.
FATHER:[/b] Draco Malfoy, 42, pureblood, ex-Slytherin, works for the Ministry. Recalling her childhood memories, Ella remembers her father being around more. He's distant now and she's frightened she'll lose him one way or another (suicide or him leaving). She loves her father, despite his flaws, and is trying to reach out to him.
SIBLINGS:[/b]
1) Scorpius Malfoy, 16, pureblood, Slytherin, the heir. Ella, as of right now, has a much better relationship with Scorpius than Damien. She confides in him more and finds comfort in his sensibility. She worries when he drinks, though, and she wishes that he'd confide in her. She would do anything for him.
2) Damien Malfoy, 15, pureblood, Slytherin, the 'spare'. Right now, Ella and Damien aren't getting on. Damien had a freak out when Ella told him about her EDs and their relationship has been broken since. Ella isn't sure it's fixable, but she'd do anything Damien wanted her to, to fix it. She still loves him and would be devastated if anything happened to him.

1) Lucius Malfoy, paternal grandfather, 68, pureblood, ex-Slytherin. Ella and Lucius share an odd relationship. Neither of them judge one another and have some weird respect for each other.
2) Narcissa Malfoy (nee Black), paternal grandmother, 67, pureblood, ex-Slytherin. Ella loves her grandmother and confides in her more than she does Draco or Astoria. When she was at the treatment centre, it was Narcissa she wrote all of the time.

HISTORY:[/b]
Ella was born in the nursery at the Malfoy Manor, which was a long-standing tradition of Malfoys and other pureblood families. She was the last child of Draco and Astoria Malfoy. Her mother had wanted a daughter and didn't stop trying until she got her way. Ella was meant to be named after the constellation Cassiopeia, but was instead named after a star. Chara, meaning joy. Her middle name, Camellia, is a flower and it is also how she got her popular nickname, Ella. However badly Astoria wanted a daughter, she still employed a governess to raise all three children for the most part.
During her first few years, Ella (when she wasn't with the governess) was with her mother. Astoria was extremely overprotective of her daughter and often sheltered her. She wasn't allowed to play with her two older brothers most days, though she fussed whenever she was bored. Ella matured quickly for her age. She walked sooner than most babies and spoke sooner, too. When she was three, she began tutoring. Simple things, of course, such as writing her name and other simply words. She also started reading - or at least trying to pronounce the words in books. She was a bright child and often needed lots of stimulation.
Two was when Ella showed her first signs of magic. Because she was spolit and usually got her way, when she didn't, her temper flared. Something would explode into pieces or catch on fire if she got angry enough. However, Astoria was quick to reprimand this behavior and it thankfully didn't last too terribly long. At age five, when Ella was able to write basic sentences and read simple, short books, she started more tutoring. She began to learn French and now can speak it fluently. This is also the age when she began to take ballet lessons, as she showed an avid interest in it.
Since she was with a governess most of her days, Ella spent a lot of time with her brothers. Though she couldn't really play with them (they played 'too roughly'), she did become quite attached to them. She followed them around constantly, always wanting to be included. When the children were young, the Malfoys were better parents then they are now. The family was closer back then; Ella was used to receiving plenty of attention from everyone in the family.
However, at some point during her childhood, though she can pinpoint exactly when, the atmosphere in the manor changed. Suddenly Draco was working more and more, Astoria was withdrawing and the governesses were 'laid off'. Ella sensed the change in the family, but didn't know for sure what was happening. She was just happy when her father brought home gifts or when she got to play with her brothers without getting hollered at. Ella's growth and development continued on strongly, though she became a bit more reserved, afraid of tipping the delicate balance that had settled over the family.
When she was nine, Scorpius went off to Hogwarts for his first year. Ella missed him dearly, but she still had Damien, so it wasn't all too bad. But the family's problems seemed to get bigger that year. Effected by it, Ella started getting picky over the foods she ate. She didn't know why she picked out food of all things, but it didn't phase her family: all kids were picky eaters, weren't they? This behavior continued and slowly got worse as time went on and when Damien left for his first year at Hogwarts. Ella was sad without her brothers. Her mother began to bring her daughter along to tea parties or other boring gatherings. The little blonde did as she was told, though, and acted the part of the perfect daughter. She probably picked up some of her mother's mannerisms during this year.
By the time it was Ella's turn to go to Hogwarts, it was plain that the Malfoys were having some serious issues. It effected the children in different ways. Ella took her eating problems to a new level: vomiting after almost every meal. She knew that it wasn't normal, but she also knew that it was the only thing that made her feel any sort of control, so she kept it hidden. At some point during her first year, Ella got into a nasty fight with another first year girl in her dorm, Lucy Weasley. They became best friends. Ella strives to be the best in her year; she's highly intelligent and competitive.
Her eating problems continued to worsen. Soon, she was skipping meals and essentially starving herself. Her growth and development was stunted. She didn't grow any breasts and she also didn't get her period when other girls did. Her body stayed flat and curve-less. She pretended to not notice this differences and did her best to conceal her weight from her family and friends. She threw herself into her studies, concentrating on being the best when her stomach growled. This continued for over a year. Nellie McGongall, a professor, picked up that something was wrong and confronted the young girl. It took some time, but Ella eventually broke down and told her, promising that she'd tell her family. She never did.
During the spring of her third year, Ella's eldest brother also confronted her about her weight. She denied everything and got angry with him; but days later, after feeling guilty, she told him the truth. Around that time, Nellie informed the Headmistress, who then contacted Draco and Astoria. Ella also told Damien and he had a bad reaction. He and Ella have not spoken much since. During the Easter holidays of 2022, Ella had The Talk (not that one ;] ) with her parents. She didn't return to Hogwarts to finish her third year. She was sent to a treatment centre instead, where she was permitted to do all of her coursework there. Ella was in the cenre from May to August. She returned home two weeks before starting her fourth year.
Since beginning her fourth year, lots of things have happened. Ella and Lucy seemed to have difficulty keeping their friendship alive. They had another fight, but this time, it severed their friendship. Ella also snogged Harry Dursley, her enemy, in a broom cupboard. The rest of the year seems like it's going to be very dramatic....
