How's things? Sorry I haven't written for a while, sweetheart - we've had a big rush of orders from the shop, so your dad and I have been rushed off our feet trying to process them.
I haven't heard from you either, which makes me wonder what you're up to that you don't want me to know. (I'm joking, but you know you can tell me anything, don't you?)
How's Scorpius? And what about all your cousins? Your Aunt Ginny showed me an interesting letter from Lucy - I assume you know about this? Other than that, I've heard no whisper from or about any of them - not sure if that's a good thing or not! Or from your brother, come to that, but I'll write to him myself. If you see him though, please remind him to write back to me, because your old mum worries if she doesn't hear from you.
How's quidditch? How's your writing going? Still working on it?
Lots of love,
Mum

Well, that explains why Daddy hasn't written much either. I suspected that you taped him to something or locked him in a cupboard. Ricky said that you two were probably spending time shagging snogging (which I don't want to think about), so I'll make sure to inform her tomorrow that that wasn't the case. Thankfully You both were just busy. I'm not up to anything . . . promise. I think Fred is, though, but that's not much of a change. Is it? Also, if Professor Peterson has anything to say about the library the other day - Fred and James did it. Honestly. Rosie and I were just sitting there, going over our potions essays. Tell Aunt Mione that too. Scorpius is okay; his birthday just passed, and he liked my gift, so that was nice. Uhm, well let's see, I'm assuming you got Lucy's letter? Can't say that I saw it coming, but who cares? So Lucy likes girls, what's the big deal. . . I think Louis had a crush or a girlfriend that moved on. . . he seems so mopey lately, like someone shot his dog. Uh. . . Molly is being Molly (I wish she'd pick up a book), uh . . OH! Rose has a new boyfriend. James is running around with Cassie and Lily's head is in the clouds, as usual. I know I missed someone. . . but let's be honest Mum, there's too many to keep up with. Don't worry Mum, Fred hasn't been expelled in six years, can he really get expelled the seventh? Merlin, I may have spoken too soon. . . Also, I don't think he's studying for his NEWTS. . . you should yell at him! Oh, you should come up the next Hogsmeade weekend. I write all the time, mum. About different things now, I suppose. Have to go now! Aggy is waiting for me. . . she's getting impatient too. Maybe I should make her wait more. . . Love, Roxie PS: Are we going to Gran's for Easter or are we going to Gran Johnson's . . . cos if we're going to Gran Johnson's, can I bring Scorpius? I don't think he's going home ever for Easter. Oh! And do you know if anyone in the alley has flats for rent. . . I was going to write Lee and ask, but I didn't. . . maybe I should. . .

Dear Roxie,
Yes, it does. And I wouldn't hold your breath for a letter from him for the next few days either. All this hard work seems to have left him exhausted; he's currently lying on the sofa with a large mug of tea, reading your Grandma's latest copy of Witch Weekly and not moving very much. I prod him every now and again to make sure he's alive. And that sounds like typical Ricky; the girl has so much tact and diplomacy. Not that we don't
What's Freddie up to? And what happened in the library? Come on Roxie, come clean - you can't tell me that much and not tell me the rest! And I don't know Professor Peterson, do I? So why would I hear anything about it from her? Merlin, it's not bad enough for me to be getting letters home again, is it?
Oh, you should have mentioned it was Scorpius' birthday - I could have send him a card at least. Or would you not have wanted me to? I've only met him once and you've been going out nearly a year - should I be worried?
I hoped knew you'd feel like that about Lucy. I'm just proud of her for coming out to everyone like that - however open-minded your family is, that takes guts. I only hope Percy isn't an arse idiot about it. Oh, poor Louis. I can't imagine him moping, he's always been so happy. But I suppose the teenage love-bug bites everyone in the end...
Don't be down on Molly, love. She's her and you're you, and if she doesn't choose to read books, that's her choice to make. You work hard enough yourself, I wouldn't start worrying about your cousins' habits! You have so many of them, where on earth would you stop? I think I heard rumours of this new boyfriend of Rose's. Didn't she only break up with the old one quite recently? What's the new one like?
You missed Dominique, Hugo and Albus, sweetheart. And Victoire, of course, but I wouldn't expect you to know what she was up to. I take it you know she's back from France though?
Touch wood, Roxie, touch wood. He only has a few months more to go, I'm sure he can do it. To be fair to him though, I don't think many of his exploits have been expellable offences. And don't try and get him into trouble (but I did ask him about that, don't worry)!
Say hello to Aggy for me! And was that some sort of dirty innuendo? In the interests of being a responsible mother, I'm going to pretend not to get it.
Lots of love, Mum
PS - I'm not sure, love. And I just asked your dad what he thought, and he just grunted at me, which wasn't a lot of help. I should think we'll manage to see them both at some point though! And yes, as far as I'm concerned, you can bring him, although you'll have to check it with your gran, of course. I doubt if she'll mind though. I don't think I've heard anything about flats, but I'll have an ask round for you if you want. Lee might know more though - or Libby, she gets all the gossip in the cafe. Why, though? I mean, I know we can be annoying at times, but I didn't think we'd driven you to the point of moving out...

Mum,
Don't worry, I know George Weasley never does things in a set time. He's a bit of a forgetful bugger, isn't he? Also, I don't want to know what you have crossed out there, I think it may just scar me forever. Ricky is ever tactful and so very graceful too. Let me tell you, there's nothing like being bowled over in the middle of a store and being jumped on and humped. You prod him? Is that code for something that I don't really want to know or think about, ever?
Oh nothing, Mum. Just the usual. I didn't do it, though. Honestly. Professor Peterson is the librarian, but I'll save that story for another day. Nothing whatsoever happened. Ever. Promise. Fred did it.
You can send him a card if you'd like. I don't think he thinks you're insane. He thinks the rest of the Weasley's are. . . Not sure why you'd want to though
I love Lucy, mum, why wouldn't I be okay with her liking girls? Besides, she accepts me for being a nutcase and she doesn't pick on me about Scorpius, so we're okay. I don't know what Uncle Percy will say, I haven't asked what Aunt Audrey said, though; she did tell her.
Teenage love doesn't bite everyone. I'm doing just fine and stable, thank you. Louis might not have even found a love, he might have not gotten the last of Gran's sweets. I don't know.
I'm not down on Molly! It's not your homework she's copying! I love her, too, but she's got shifty eyes when it comes to essays. I swear, she's kind of like the female version of Seb Nott at times. Rose and Kaycee broke up last year around this time, I think. I don't know she slep -- I don't know why the split. I think Rosie cheated on him . . . I know, I can't believe it either. Don't tell Aunt Mione, though, Rose hasn't told her. His name is Seth and he's friends with Fred, so ask Fred. I've met him once, I think. She's constantly snogging him, or thinking about snogging him, though.
Dominique is chasing hot males over the age of seventeen. I'm not joking either. But we're okay again . .. you didn't know why we weren't in the first place. Oh fuck. She's being Dom.
Hugo and Albus have gone AWOL. I think that they escaped. You must alert the authorities, asap. Vic is back at St.Mungos she spent time in Paris shagging.
I'm touching wood, mum, calm down. He'll make it. I don't want him here for another year. He's monitoring me. Do I look like i need to be monitored. No, I don't. If I have to take his NEWTS For him, he'll be gone this year. Most people think we're twins . .. though we clearly aren't. I'll just pretend I'm Fredlina. . . I'm not trying to get him into trouble. But you should still yell at him.
I will. She's attempting to convince me to become a vegetarian. . .
Love, Rox
PS: Wait, which Gran? And Dad likes Scorpius, so that's no trouble there. I'll owl Lee later. He and Libby are usually all over each other so I'm not sure when he'll get the chance to owl me back, but alas, I shall do so anyways. Or you can just ask Libby for me? What? me. .. I'm not going anywhere. I don't have the means to leave yet. Just asking for a friend, that's all. . . I wonder if Gracie knows if the Leaky has any rooms - you know I can't talk to Neville inside the castle; it's weird calling him Professor Longbottom.

Roxie,
It's true, he is at times, but we forgive him. And Ricky is a force of nature, love, there's no other way of putting it. She's clearly being an influence on you though - either that or it's that boyfriend of yours! My sweet innocent Roxie should not be making innuendo - especially not about things that were meant entirely innocently. When I said I prod him, I meant I prod him - with a finger, in his stomach mostly. Merlin, Rox.
Why do I get the feeling that this much protesting must be covering something up?
Well, that's nice of him, to exclude me from the insanity judgement. Why exactly does he think that the rest of your family is insane? Not that he's completely wrong
No, I knew you wouldn't have a problem with it. The only person in the family I can even imagine being slightly upset would be Percy. You never know though, maybe he'll be pleased. It's ridiculous, but for some reason men seem to be more protective of their daughters with boys than with other girls... And there's more than one way of being bitten, Roxie. I'd say you'd been bitten pretty hard myself...
Well, it's a sign that your essays must be good if people want to copy them... I don't see Molly getting results anything close to yours though, so she can't be copying them too closely. I wouldn't worry about it until your teachers start noticing that your essays are the same...
Is it really that long? Ah well, I suppose it's not so bad then. And so long as she and Dom are happy, that's all that matters. That's slightly worrying about Hugo and Albus though - don't you see Al in lessons? And I thought he was a friend of Scorpius?
I know Vic's back at St Mungo's. Thank you for that information, Roxanne, I can see the way your mind is working at the moment. I'm going to tell Lee and Libby that their daughter is being a bad influence on mine...
I know he'll make it, without your help too. But he's too like his father sometimes - and you know, he never sat his NEWTs. Not that it's held him back much, but I'd like to see Freddie pass.
Are you tempted? Lily's vegetarian, isn't she?
Love, Mum
PS - Well, I thought we were talking about your Grandma Johnson. But the same probably goes for your Grandma Weasley - it would be the rest of the family you'd have to watch out for. I think 'likes' is putting it a bit strongly as far as your father's concerned, but Oh, which friend? Are they alright, love? If it's a real emergency, I'm sure we could find them somewhere...

Mummy,
Yes, Ricky is the influence. I swear she is. Horn dog, I tell you. Can't keep it in her pants - or rather her pants on. Yup. She's comparing notes with Seb Nott when it comes to conquests, I believe. Scorpius what? Are you talking about - never mind. I'm not making innuendo up out of thin air. I just asked a feasible question. I don't want to sleep on the couch if you and dad not that scorpi . . . can we stop talking about this?
Covering nothing up, don't know what you're talking about.
Have you seen these insane people we call family, mum? The other day Dominique was mud wrestling, come on now!
What do you think Gran will say? She hasn't written yet. . . and I've heard that old muggle saying that Guns don't kill people, Dad's with pretty girls do. I think we should never show dad a muggle gun, then, eh? And I haven't been bitten! My feet are on the ground, thank you! Just because I'm in love doesn't mean I can't be sensible! Merlin, does everyone think I've lost my head or something? I'm still Roxanne!
Because Molly borrows bits and pieces from everyone's work . . . it's a blending technique for her. She's not bad at it, either. . . just don't want her using my words!
Is what really long? See, this is where I keep getting innuendo points to make. Yup, Dom is alright, and so is Rosie. Al and Hugo will turn up eventually, they always do. I think.
I think Al and Scorpius are okay now. Scorpius made quidditch captain, not Al, so Al was bitter for a while. But we really don't talk about Al when we're together, mum.
My mind's not working any way. . . Vic told me that! Blame her. Oh, Blame Ricky - she's a very bad influence. . . I love her, though. She's the sister you never gave me. Instead I got Fred. He never played dress up with me.
Don't you ever repeat this to him, because if you do I'll deny it, but: I have faith in Freddie, he can do it. I love him and I will always love him, even if he's obnoxious. But I've got faith in him.
I don't know, never considered it. Yes, Lily is!
Love, Roxie
PS: Nope, I was asking about Gran Johnson, so that's perfect. Grandpa isn't too keen on a Malfoy at our table just yet; he's "still getting use to it, Roxie. You know i love you, but i'm learning to trust a Malfoy. . ." so yeah. Could find somewhere like where, cos it's not an emergency right now.

Roxie,
Oh dear, Ricky's not really that bad, is she? I mean, there's nothing wrong with having a bit of fun, but there's such a thing as taking it too far. Sleeping round's not the cleverest thing to do, whatever your age or gender. I'm glad you've always been too sensible for that. Although I have been wondering about you and Scorpius. D'you mind me asking...?
By all means, we can stop talking about myself and your father.
You and Fred are far more similar than either of you think. And Dom was mud wrestling? By herself?
What will Gran say about Lucy, you mean? Well, I don't know. Your gran's a very open-minded person, but then she is that older generation, and I suppose that can make a difference. I'm quite sure she'll love Lucy for who she is though, it might just take her a while to adjust to the idea. And men are ridiculous creatures. If I was that protective over Fred, I'd get laughed at. I might try it, just to make a point.
Your feet have never really been very close to the ground, Roxie, but okay, if you say so. It doesn't have to be a bad thing, you know, though. I'm glad you've found someone you're happy with even if he is.
Hm. Well, maybe Molly should try and do her own work occasionally. Has anyone tried to tactfully tell her that? And I can see why that would have upset poor Al. Although it's good for Scorpius, I suppose. He's into quidditch, then?
I'm compsing a letter of complaint to Libby at this moment, regarding the terrible influence that is her daughter. And talking of Ricky, if you see her, give her my love, same for Felicity. Though I don't remember her playing that much dress up with you either?
I know, I know. I should stop worrying about him.
Love, Mum
PS - Hm, yes, I can see why that that might be an issue for Grandad. That family have a lot of bad associations for a lot of our family, I'm afraid, and maybe it's not fair that that gets taken out of the son, but you need to understand it's not easy for Grandad - or some of your aunts and uncles.
Well, I don't know, I'm sure we know someone who could put them up in an emergency. We have a spare room ourselves, although I do mean in an emergency - we're not becoming a refuge for homeless teenagers! But you still haven't told me who it is, or why they're looking for somewhere...

Mum,
No, Ricky isn't bad, not in the slightest. She's actually a lot more conservative than what I said - though I use that term very loosely. Well, there are a few people that get around the castle a bit but I'm not one of them and neither is ricky's so no worries. Wondering about Scorpius and me? Mind you asking what, per say?
Consider the conversation done and over because I was starting to loose my lunch. Your my mum; he's my dad. . . that's just wrong.
No. We're not. He's night, I'm day. . . and what, oh Dom. She was with Gavi.
I'd love for you to come down to Hogwarts and trapse on any little girl Freddy is chasing with the over-protective mother bit. It'd be the best thing ever. Please say you'll do it. Hopefully gran won't reject Lucy, she probably won't like it, but she can't reject her own granddaughter, can she?
Don't patronise me. I've always been perfectly sensible for the most part. So what if I like the whimsical and enjoy stories and reading and dreaming; that doesn't mean my feet aren't on the ground. For the first five years of my Hogwarts life I was called neurotic. . . you can't tell me that that doesn't mean my feet weren't touching solid grown. And yes, I am happy. Very much so ever if some people seem to make that out to be a crime
I don't know and Al is a bit of a pompous arse. I think that he get's along with me, Lily, and. . . Lucy. Oh, and Hugo. That's about it. Yes, he is, he wants to be a professional player.
Well, send Aunt Lib my love while you're writing the letter, please. And I'll tell Ricky and Fefe. Nah, she enjoys dressing me now . . . don't ask because I'm not explaining. But she's always been rather. . . chaotic. Actually, I don't think I ever played dress up. I think I mostly hid in corners and read. . .
He'll be 18 in April, mum; he's a big boy. A bit daft at times, but a big boy. Oh, I'll be seventeen in July. . . wow.
Love, Roxie
PS: I know it's not. Aunt Hermione has told me the stories before. So I know. But the sins of the father are not those of the children.
How much of an emergency would it need to be for him someone to stay in our spare room?
ooc: she's blatantly ignoring Angelina's last question, as you probably have figured out

Roxie,
Well, that's good. I knew you weren't - I trust you - but I have wondered about Ricky on occasion. I didn't think she'd really go in for that though - I wouldn't call her conservative, but she's got too much self respect. I think you have a fairly good idea what I was asking. I was wondering if you'd slept with him, Roxie. Don't worry, I'm not going to go through the roof if you have - it would be perfectly normal. You're sixteen years old, you've been going out with since last year, and I trust you to make the right decisions for yourself mostly.
It's funny though, you and Fred are both very good at being very bad at acting innocently when you've done something. Which I shouldn't complain about, because it makes it very much easier for me to know when you're lying, even in a letter!
Who's Gavi?
Hm, well, I'll think about it. I'm not sure you'd be saying that if you knew which girl it was that Fred was chasing after I am 100 per cent sure that Gran would never reject any of her grandchildren, love, whatever she might feel about it.
I'm not patronising you, Rox, I'm teasing you - there's a difference. I still say the love bug's got you pretty hard. That particular bug can bring a lot of happiness and a lot of pain - you're just lucky that it's brought you happiness at the moment.
Scorpius wants to be a professional? I wonder what his family think of that - it's not the sort of career you associate with the Malfoys. Good luck to him though. What position does he play? And you should have a word with your Aunt Ginny, she's still got plenty of contacts in the business.
I can only imagine what Ricky likes to dress you in. Don't let her get carried away, love.
Yes yes, don't remind me,you make me feel old. Although that does remind me, I should ask Fred if there's anything he specially wants for his birthday. Have you thought what you'd like yet?
Love,
Mum
PS - Roxie, is this person someone you think I'd disapprove of you being friends with or something? Because it wouldn't matter how much of an emergency it was, they wouldn't be staying here unless I knew who they were first...
((OOC - Yes, Angelina's noticed, haha))

mu myummy mym
why the letters are running across the page dofic - difficult - writein
Mummmyy,
I that think has too many letters in it . . . there's doubles of all things
First hings things second first, I swear to BMerlin I didn't do what Professor Hawthorne says. Aggy and I castle before the ding - dong of the bell. I mean. . . maybe should wait for sober. . .
I'm not drunk.
I'm not asking about you and da's sexual interactions so asking about mine in a letters your husband can find and then kill me and my blondfriend doesn't seem fair. That's not a no or yes either . . . this isn't an ad-mish -uhn.
Gavi's in Gryffin - door. She's Dom-i-ni-que's friends. Why are we talking bout Gavi?
I don't understand, but Fred did it.
The bugs brought pain too, thank you muchly. We weren't together for a months and I thought I was to be in a lot of trouble because it was missing, but Madame James . . . well that doesn't look right Frames says it's a no go and I said: Wooo!
Aunt Ginny gave me tickts for Scorpius for Christmas, or his birthday - you think i could remember because his birthday was a lot of funs. I think birthday - Gran made him a cake. I love cake. Will you sned send me cake?
It's moer like dress down. . .
Last years gift was bester. And Fred wants a haircut.
You're not old. Dads always older.
love, froxie
PS: I can't tell you because you won'ts let him stay in my room and your husbands wall say no. I've gota bed now. . .
((Such a difficult letter to write! lol.))

Roxanne Angelina Weasley, it would serve you right if I showed your grandmother that letter! Count yourself lucky you're not getting a howler. How much did you have? And who gave it to you? You do realise that you're still underage, don't you? Honestly, I'm ashamed of you!
I'll attempt to answer as many of the things you said as possible though - at least, as many as I could understand.
Who is Professor Hawthorne and what does he say you've done?
Your father is not going to find any letter I don't want him to find, thank you. You still haven't actually answered the question I asked, but I think I can guess the answer from the way you evaded it. Roxie, I'm your mother; I just want to know what's going on in your life. I may not like the fact that you're growing up, but I don't want to stick my head in the sand and pretend it's not happening. Just be safe and sensible, that's all I ask. I'm actually a lot more upset by how drunk you must have been to have written that letter than I am to know that you've slept with your long term boyfriend.
Although I'm quite worried by the bit about Madam James (I assume that's who you mean). Are you okay, Roxie? What did you have to go to Madam James about?
You should ask your Gran for cake; you know she's better at baking than me. (The request for cake was the only sense I could make from that bit to be quite honest.)
Fred wants a haircut?
Thank you, love. Your words are a great comfort to me.
Lots of love (even if you don't deserve it!), Mum
PS - Are we talking about Scorpius by any chance? Also, since when do you consistently refer to your dad as 'your husband'?

Okay Mum, you don't have to shout. I can practically here you through your penmanship. Please don't tell Gran, I don't want a howler from her. I have your lovely letter in hand right now that's doing all the yelling.
Ashamed of me? Like you've never done something stupid! Also, Fred does stupid things all the time. Seriously, what's the big deal? I'll be seventeen in July. It doesn't matter and I was with Aggy. Merlin, you act like I threatened the muggle prime minister or something. I drank a little too much. So.
It hurts that you're ashamed of me, too. Thanks.
I don't know. I don't even know what I did He's head of Slytherin.
I don't really remember what I said, but I know that I didn't say I slept with Scorpius, or that I didn't. I know that much. But as far as Dad is concerned, I don't even know. Can we not have this conversation through post?
What did I say about Madame James? When did I go and see her. . . fuck.
Cake? I don't understand. . . I mean, I like cake, I'm not understanding any of this conversation and I have a throbbing headache.
Fred does?
Uhm, you're welcome. . .
Why don't I deserve love? Because I did something stupid? Merlin. . .
Rox
PS: Your husband. . . I don't understand. . . Scorpius? for what, what did he do? Lord, my head is thumping.

Dear Roxie,
It serves you right if you have a headache. No sympathy for self-inflicted illness. But love, I'm not shouting any more, and I'm not really angry ashamed of you. At least, unless you did something really terrible, that I don't know about yet, while you were drunk. Merlin knows I was bad enough when I was your age Just try not to do it too often, or to drink too much - it's not safe or healthy, love. And you drank quite a lot too much if you can't remember what you were doing. I'm glad you were with Aggy though.
And please tell me that you didn't seriously upset the Head of Slytherin?
I'll save the rest of the lecture, and the rest of the other conversation, until I see you, so long as you promise to take my advice.
I don't know when you went to see Madam James - that's what you told me in your other letter. But Rox, if there's anything wrong with you, please tell me, whatever it is.
I think we can probably forget the rest of the conversation, which came from your drunken rambling.
You do deserve love, at least I think you do. Unless there's still more you haven't told me.
Love, Mum
PS - Okay, I'll be a little clearer. The impression I'm getting is that the person who's looking for somewhere to stay is your boyfriend. Am I right? Go and find a hangover potion.

Mum,
Self inflicted illness? Just call it a he after effects of an apparent drunken disorderly why don't you? Sounds a lot more pompous in comparison to the classic term of "hangover". Well, I think I drank firewhisky, which should possibly a warning for me to stay away from. Last time I drank it I ended up on the room of requirement floor... Aggy and I are wonderful together. She brings out the Weasley in me.
I may have told him that he needed a haircut and that he looked good. so who knows, ravenclaw still has all it's points, though, so it couldn't have been that bad...
Advice duly noted.
I'm fine, I don't know what I said. I splinched myself a bit last semester but that was it. I'm alive.
Forgotten.
Hmm, what haven't I told you . . .
Would you love me if I said I ... Don't know.
Love, Rox
PS - Kaycee's disappeared and taken them with him. And if it is scorpius what will you think of him?

I don't know, love - sounds like a pretty classic hangover to me. May as well call a spade a spade... I hope it teaches you a lesson.
Well, your Head of Slytherin is very different from the one in our day, if you still have all your points after that. I do not condone being cheeky to your teachers, just so you know, but I have to say I'm glad you picked the Slytherin to get away with it with...
You'd better do more than just 'note' my advice.
Roxanne, just promise me that if there was anything serious wrong, you'd tell me. I'm worried about you, love.
What don't you know? You can tell me anything, you know that, and I'll always love you. Merlin, what d'you think I'd do, throw you out the house? Whatever you tell me, that won't be happening.
Lots of love, Mum
PS - What would I think of him or what would I think of the idea of him staying with us? I can't imagine your father going for that plan, Rox, and I wouldn't be too happy about it myself, I have to say. Nothing to do with him being a Malfoy, just because you're sixteen years old and your boyfriend moving into your parents' house would be a very big step. I think it would need to be a real emergency - ie, a choice between that and him sleeping on the streets - before we said yes. As for what I thought of Scorpius himself, that would depend quite a lot on why he's not still living at home like most school kids...
