Dear Mum,
I wrote to Daddy, so I thought that it was only fair if I wrote to you as well. Dad did say, though, that you may not be up for writing back and that's okay. I just wanted to say hello.
School is going well, if you're wondering. My grades are great - just ask Dad, I'm not lying. I've made some new friends this year, too. The year hasn't been as bad as I had expected it to be, so I can't complain too much.
I hope that you're okay! I miss you. Write back if you feel up to it!
Love, Ella

My dearest Ella,
I'm sorry for not having been in touch, for not having been there when you needed me, and for not having been focused for the past few months. I am better now, for the most part. So, I do feel up to writing to you, darling. Actually, receiving this letter from you was a delightful surprise!
I'm glad your grades are great - that is so good to hear. Also, friends are lovely and I'm glad you're spreading your wings. I can remember how you could be a bit shy.
I am okay.. I'm doing better than I've been in quite a long time. Again, I'm sorry for my absence and seemingly un-wellness. I hope you're feeling well, darling. Be safe.
Love always, Mum.

Dear Mummy,
It's alright. I understand. Dad gets busy, too. But I'm glad to hear writing you was a good thing, that I made you feel a little better.
Thank you. I've been working hard this year. I want to make Prefect next year. I'm not so shy anymore - I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Oh. Well, that's good to hear. Feeling ill isn't a pleasant feeling. And spring is coming, so that's always something to look forward to. Summer isn't too far behind when spring arrives. I promise to be safe, and I'm feeling fine.
Can I get a dog? Please? Dad says no.
Love, Ella
((ooc: jsyk, she pretends to be more naive than she really is, lol. She's far from stupid. And she really wants a dog to feel less alone, so she's asking every adult in her family... xP ))

My little Ella,
Everyone seems to be busy lately, hmm?
Oh, Prefect? I think that position would be fabulous for you, as long as you keep those grades up. Being shy can be both a good and a bad thing. It's good because you can make some good friends. It can be bad, though, because it opens you up to more hurt because you may not find the right friends. I just hope you're making the proper good choices in life.
No - being ill isn't pleasant at all. But, it's all good now. And yes - of course. Spring and summer! I'm looking forward to going out in the garden, perhaps study the flowers for a while. They are really beautiful.
Hmm, a dog? Your father isn't a dog person.
What type? And why for, darling girl?
Love always, Mum.

Mummy,
Yes, they do. I reckon it's a part of life, though. But I asked Daddy if we could go overseas in the upcoming holidays - just for a day. He hasn't given me a definite answer. Anyway, I thought I'd ask you to come along as well. I think it would be nice, don't you?
If I got Prefect, I promise I'd keep my grades up. I seem to do better with more wok, actually. My lessons are boring me, if I'm being honest. I reckon that's true. I have made good friends! And I'm making the best choices a fourteen-year-old can, though somehow I doubt that comforts you.
Yes, the gardens are beautiful. They always make me feel better. Especially when everything is in bloom - it's a gorgeous sight.
I don't know what type of dog. A big one! Not a small ankle-biter. And just because I want one - no special reason. Wouldn't you like it to keep you company whilst I'm at school? It could serve as a reminder of me.
Love, Ella

Precious Ella,
Overseas? Well, your father does have his work. I can't possibly imagine him leaving work to go overseas with us or taking time off. But, it's always good to ask. I'm not sure if he would like me to go with you two, darling dear. If he's alright with it, then perhaps!
Have you spoken to your professors about the classes not being challenging enough? Because I'm sure they have more challenging courses they can place you in. You're a bright girl, Ella; a shining star. And you're right, it doesn't entirely comfort me. But I'm hoping for the best - and extending a bit of trust. (Yes, I know, where is this 'trust' coming from?..) My dear, I'm turning over a new leaf. So I hope you can forgive my previous mistakes.
They make me feel better, too. Do you remember when you were young and we would spend time out in the gardens, playing or reading together? I miss those days.
It would depend on the dog. I'm not a fan of St. Bernard dogs, but I am willing to consider you getting a dog. If I can convince your father, hopefully.
Love always, Mum.

Mummy,
Er, I didn't mean to say overseas. I meant abroad. As in Europe. Sorry if I confused you at all! He said we could go on a weekend day, so he wouldn't actually be taking any time off from work. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you came along! You're married.
No, I'm afraid I have not spoken to any of my professors about not being challenged enough. I probably should, though. I'll think on it. Thank you, Mum. I'm not making any daft choices. You can trust me. Turning over a new leaf? That's good. I Of course I can forg It's good to set goals for yourself.
I remember! I miss them too. Everything was so carefree then. It was nice. Maybe we can take a walk together when I'm home in the holidays.
Oh, I don't want a dog that big! Maybe a nicer medium-sized dog - like a hound? But he would have to be quiet. Thank you for considering it! Daddy doesn't need to know if I get a dog.
Mum... can I ask you something? It's about boys.
Love, Ella
