Finally the summer holidays had come after what seemed like an endless year. The year had been long and the last month Anya had been dealing with the complaints from her step-brother about his OWLs and she did not envy him for a second. If he wasn't cramming last minute and complaining, he was in a horribly grouchy mood the rest of the time. And when he flopped himself next to her at lunch, it really wasn't something Anya enjoyed, though he never listened to her not so subtle complaints. Honestly, Anya couldn't be more grateful for summer and she would not allow herself to focus on what the next year would bring.
After catching up with her family, her dad going to great links to make her her favorite stew, a little taste of Russia after a long few months at Hogwarts. She had sent an owl to one of her friends back at school after two weeks into the vacation. She loved Kaiden and all, but Merlin was she getting sick of him quickly at her mums. Anya made her way down Diagon Alley, feeling the sunshine on her skin as a smile stretched across her lips. She had worn shorts and a blue tank to make the most of the weather, her hair tied up behind her head.
Finally, she had reached her destination and the largest smile stretched across her lips as she entered the ice-cream parlor. Going in she order her chocolate ice-cream and was nearly bursting with pleasure as she took her small cup of happiness to one of the tables outside to wait for Levi. Merlin, the ice-cream was like heaven. After being lost in the taste for a little bit, she had looked up from her ice-cream and her blue eyes landed on a familiar face and a grin spread across her lips. "Levi!" she called happily, waving him over.
(ooc: meh, sorry for the shortness my dear)

Although Levi missed Hogwarts and was glad to finally have fourth year behind him, he wasn't exactly looking forward to fifth year. OWLs seemed daunting, and he'd be taking them in just about a year. He planned to start studying right when he returned to Hogwarts, that way, he could avoid the cramming that normally occurred at the last stretch of fifth year. Starting with topics from first year and progressing from there, the schedule seemed quite manageable.
Spending time with his family was different than what he was used to. Yesterday, his mum had decided that he needed a haircut- probably since she didn't approve of Lee's mid-length hair. He'd grudgingly obliged, and was regretting it. He felt that the shorter(not too short, luckily) hair was just strange and missed the old length. After a morning of helping out in his mum's shop, Levi was glad to be out of the shop and with a friend.
Levi absolutely loved being in Diagon Alley. The people were mostly friendly, and most of them were okay with his presence. In the past week or so, Lee had convinced his mum(or his dad) to take him six out of seven days. As he made his way to Florean Fortescue's, the teen's pace quickened.
"Sorry I'm late," Levi said anxiously as he walked over to Anya's table. "How're you?"

She watched with a smile as the boy walked over to join her and she held her ice cream in the air proudly for him to see. "Levi, this chocolate is amazing," she said nodding as he finally reached her table. "Oh, and hi!" she said cheerfully, gesturing at the seat in front of her. "Late? Ha, probably not. I left home earlier than I needed to. I'm always at least ten minutes early," she grinned. "Really, you should know that by now."
She took another bite of her ice cream, leaving the spoon in her mouth with her head titled to the side as she pondered his question. "I'm good I guess. Dreadfully bored. My step-brother had one of the muggle boys over, so I had to make my escape. I really don't get the allure of a game station over a book. They just sit there and shoot virtual people in these bloody, violent games. It's really stupid and pointless," she said bluntly, eating another spoonful of her ice-cream. "I mean...Unless you like those games. Then...I don't know," she finished lamely, shrugging her shoulders. "Anyway, how are you? You really have to try this ice cream," she noted, stuffing another bite into her mouth. Suddenly, she squeezed blue eyes shut. A pain shot through her skull as soon as the ice cream hit her tongue. She took a sharp breath before her tensed body relaxed again. "Brain freeze," she said simply, smiling at him.

Levi checked his watch. Anya was right- he was right on time, and she'd been early. With a shrug, he sat down in the seat across from her. "I might, if you say so- don't tell my mum, but I stole a bit of her chocolate truffles this morning, so I've had my fair share of chocolate," he said, a slight grin itching at the corner of his mouth. "I would've brought you some if I could figure out a way to get it to you without it melting."
Levi frowned. The boys in his neighborhood who'd bullied him back in elementary school had tournaments over those games in the summer, and luckily, it kept them away from seeing Levi reading. "I've tried them at my muggle cousin's place- they're awful. I'd much rather read a story over murdering innocent lives for no clear reason in a silly game. It's pointless." He shook his head. "Speaking of books, have you read any good ones?" He hoped she's be able to recommend a few- Lee had ran out of fresh reading a few days prior.
"Me? I've been alright. Mum is trying to teach me how to run her store, and my favorite aunt is getting married soon." He didn't seem too excited at the last bit. "Things have been a tad hectic with that- the wedding is in two weeks. Which might be why Mum made me get a haircut," he reasoned. "I'm off to Muggle sports camp after it- Merlin, save me." His father had been the one to suggest the idea that Levi should attend that camp because apparently, he needed time away from books and time outdoors made strong men in the future, or something. "I will," he said with a nod, just about ready to go up and order some with the spare sickles floating around in his pocket when the brain freeze hit. "Are you alright?" he asked in a slightly panicked voice.

She grinned as he sat across from her, her grin turning slightly more evil has he spoke. "You stole chocolate? Why Levi, I'm shocked at your boldness," she teased lightly. "Though out of all the things to steal that would be my number one. Chocolate and cig...er...cinnamon buns?" Her end was lame, she knew but for some reason Anya felt the need to correct herself. It felt weird admitting to Levi of all people she sneaks off on the grounds to have a nice long smoke ever now and then. In fact...She better not think about it at all, her finger twitched toward her short pocket but thankfully that's all it did. She put on a pained face, though her tone was light. "You didn't bring me any chocolate? See if I share my stash again," she huffed, smirking.
She nodded passionately. "See! Exactly! I really don't see the point in a game of mindless slaughter. It's brain-rotting, revolting, and ridiculous," she said simply, stuffing another bite into her mouth. "Pointless is correct, my friend. I was questioning their intelligence as I left the house this afternoon. Oh books!" she said excitedly, actually setting down her beloved ice-cream to clap her hands together. "I just started on some Jane Austin novels! Pride and Prejudice was so good, but I'm on Emma right now. Emma can be such a bitch, but I'm in love with this book. I stole it from my mum. What about you? Anything interesting?" she question, her voice still quite excited from her book discussion.
"Oh, married? That should be fun. Free cake and champaign and if anyone gets drunk you can hold it against them." She shrugged, picking up her ice-cream again. "Is the guy nice? You don't sound excited," she noted. She grinned then, trying to bring some life to the conversation. "Well, I like the haircut. Makes you look good. I need to get mine cute...But honestly I'm a bit to lazy for all that. Oh and I'm fine. My head is now frozen, but it's all good." Her voice was even, her face composed. Until she looked down in her cup and noticed it was empty and her bottom lip poked out into a pout. She held the cup upside down and slouched back in her chair. "When ice cream runs out, I die a little inside. You know that saying every tie a bell rings, an angel gets its wings? Every time there is an empty cup of ice cream, a piece of Anya dies. Yep. Totally," she teased, grinning as she tossed the empty cup back on the table.
She snorted then. "Wait, wait wait. Rewind and freeze. You are going to a muggle sports camp?" she laughed, her blue eyes sparkling. "No offense Levi dear, I don't see you as a sports...type. Did I ever tell you the time my parents stuck me in a tutu and threw me in a dance class? That's why I'm so graceful on the brook during quidditch matches," she lied. "Okay...So I probably fell on my face in every single class, but that's not the point."
She looked down at the table, tracing the lines in the wood with her finger. Could she tell him? Gah. She was such a blunt person, but telling anyone this piece of information terrified her. Not right now. "Okay, so once you get your heaven in a cup, why don't we do something interesting today?" she asked, an evil glint in her eye.

Ooc- I apologize for the delay, my muse escaped!
Levi grinned at Anya. "I'm stealing a carmel apple tomorrow," he joked. It was rare for him to understand sarcasm- and even rarer for him to be sarcastic. Cigarettes? So that's what Anya did when she snuck out, thought Levi. The grin faded away slightly, but he shrugged. "Cinnamon buns are good," he said quickly- meaning the actual food, not cigarettes. "And I'll bring some chocolate for you when we get back to Hogwarts. Promise." He made a mental note to bring some, but he doubted that he'd forget it.
"The boys who, you know, roughed me up in Muggle school, have tournaments with those games. It keeps them away from me, which is good, but I think it makes them stupider." He volunteered. Lee didn't often insult those boys- he normally feared them. "I bet it's why they're so dumb." A pause. "My mum owns those- maybe I'll read them next. As for me, I just finished A Game of Thrones. Dad can't take me to the bookstore to get the next one in that series for a little while."
He sighed. "I guess so. Cake is always good, and one of mum's friends is baking it for the wedding." He shrugged. "Well, Elliot is an okay guy- he's the headmaster of the school that my aunt teaches at. I just feel...weirded out about the whole thing. She didn't want to marry three years ago." Levi knew that people could very well change, but he didn't like change. "I can get you another one of you'd like," Levi offered.
Levi grinned sheepishly. "I'm not the type, yeah. Dad was a sports buff when he was my age...so I'm going to have to attend one." He frowned. Guys his age who weren't wizards didn't seem to like people like him. The week he'd spend there wouldn't be pleasant, he thought. The grin faded to a frown rather quickly.
Levi noticed Anya's hesitation. She looked a bit troubled, but he figured that not saying anything would be best. Girls didn't like being told that something looked wrong, at least that's what he thought. "I'll get some in a second, don't worry. Um, we could look around or something? Anything interesting sounds good."
