PERSONALITY:
Kate was born into a very aristocratic pureblood family. She was pushed too early into walking and talking, though she is a very smart person (she speaks Russian, French and Italian fluently.) She grew up a very proud girl, proud of her heritage and her family. She never let anything hold her down in the past and she attempts to do the same in the present. She doesn’t let others see her cry. (The only person who has witnessed that is her older brother.) Her family (except her brother) was a bit cold and distant, so Kate has adapted that mannerism.
However, when she met Mark Dashwood, everything seemed to change. He managed to loosen her up a bit in their youth and that stuck with her until after she had her daughter. She turned back into her cold, distant self and didn’t know why. She couldn’t seem to pull herself out of it. Later, she was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression. It seemed to just float into depression after sometime, though she hides it well. Kate never felt like she really connected to her daughter; she always felt more attached to her son. She is a lot stricter with her children than their father is. She has a knack for blaming herself – is something goes wrong in a case at work, she blames herself. She also blames herself for the falling out she’s out with her husband.
The affair she knows about hurts her too much. She often drinks to suppress the thoughts. She obsessed over vanity.

HISTORY:
As mentioned above, Kate grew up in a very aristocratic family. They valued vanity over anything else, covered scandals and laughed off their pain. She walked, talked, read and wrote all at very young ages – partly because she is very intelligent and partly because she was pushed. She was learning French by the time she was five, Italian by the time she was seven and tackled Russian when she was nine. Her family regularly attended galas and Kate hated going to them. The only part she enjoyed about it was dressing up and pretending to be someone else for a night.
When she was about eight, one of Kate’s father’s friends from the Ministry was over at their house. He was drunk and crept into Kate’s room late at night. He sexually assaulted her (with his fingers) and told her not to tell or he’d Crucio her. Kate didn’t tell and this continued on until she went Hogwarts. She told her mother what happened before she left for school and the woman laughed in her face. So Kate told her father and, favoring her, he became enraged. He dueled his friend almost to death and upon coming home, Obliviated the memories from Kate’s mind. When she was older, William told her what happened.
Kate grew up thinking that every family functioned like this. It wasn’t until Hogwarts that she realized she was a very privileged girl. She was very mature for her age and couldn’t seem to connect with other girls – especially other girls her age. She withdrew into herself, becoming somewhat of a bitch, though she was very shy. Her friends were mainly older boys (as she got older, her parents began to think that she was sleeping with all of them.) Which was how she met Mark. She fell in love with him from the very beginning. He was a lot like her brother and found ways to open her up, bringing out the real Kate. This helped Kate relate the other girls her age after a little while.
A few years after she graduated, Kate and Mark married. Soon after, she was pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Kate was ecstatic. She loved her son to pieces. It wasn’t long after the birth of her son that Kate found out she was pregnant again. She could feel a difference in this pregnancy, though; something didn’t seem right. Everything turned out to be okay (for the most part), besides a very tough labor, leaving Kate exhausted and unable to care for her daughter properly. She suffered from postpartum depression, which later was just depression that she struggles with to this day. It ruined her relationship with her husband – he’s having an affair. Kate blames herself.
She works hard at what she does. She’s a wizarding lawyer, working with wizarding families for whatever reason, finalizing adoptions in the wizarding world and etc.
