this guy is samuel humphrey hawes, 57, halfblood, big cheese in the ministry of magic and as rich as they come. he's very much in love with his partner, the stunning ruth hannah parker although the sheer adoration he feels towards her is not returned. although ruth does love samuel, she is not in love with him, her feelings towards him being more platonic than anything. although this, understandably, breaks his heart, he stays with her because he can't bear to be without her.
her kids, however, aren't too fond of him; her eldest son, josh (26) lives in america at the moment, working as a lawyer, and thus josh and samuel haven't had much contact. william, ruth's second eldest at 18, became a quick enemy at samuel's manor, causing trouble and upsetting his mother constantly, so samuel has had him kicked out of the manor - not purely because samuel dislikes will, but for ruth's well-being. ruth's last child, lara (14) is contemptuous towards samuel, although he does not yet realise it.
samuel, when he was younger, at hogwarts, was low on self-esteem, apologetic and constantly stuttering. he was ridiculed by his classmates often and thus flung himself into work although his father never seemed impressed. nowadays, you simply wouldn't know him; samuel comes off as jovial and a tad pompous, incredibly clever and completely comfortable in who he is, and he also has a beautiful wife with poise and elegance and strength.
ellie (who plays lara), hope (who is working on josh's app), cass (working on ruth's app) and i (playing will) would absolutely adore if the character samuel was taking on. he's very important to the plot and there will be tons of drama and angst in store for the family. if interested, please post in this thread or pm one of the people playing a member of the family! thank you!
